Bo Pelini is a guy who can hold guys accountable we never saw that with Aranda and to me is one of the reasons players slacked off with big leads he should of been in the huddle calling players out when we were giving up 37 points to Ole Miss

No reason to bad mouth Aranda. Particularly since you have no fricking clue what you're talking about and whether it's correct or not.

We finished as the best team of all time and particularly dominated in the end because our defense got better and better.

How often were you at practices or on the sidelines or in meetings with him and the team? I'm guessing never so there is no way you could have "seen" anything.

In other words you don't know shite, which is pretty standard.

Well guess what when people look at what team was the best ever guess what people are going to say oh there offense was really good but there defense wasn’t great Dave Aranda is the only reason we aren’t the unanimous best of all time!!!

The thing that concerns me is that Dave was such a stoic individual, Bo is the polar opposite, in fact, he's been under fire for being to in your face and too personal with players, the guy is out of his mind, I'd be willing to try him though

You do realize the other team got the ball more than any other year in LSU history due to us scoring a zillion points right?

From the A&M game on, our D was lights out. I don’t know why you give a frick what “people” think or say about this team. Just like the stats from when Clemson went up 17-7 we outgained them by 400 yards and clamped down on D. Aranda’s scheme shut down the #2 and #3 ranked offenses in back to back weeks and held them to 28 and 25 points respectively. They didn’t have a great first half of the season. They had an excellent second half of the season and finished strong. I don’t get why you have a bone to pick with Aranda. Dude’d D shut Jalen Hurts and Trevor Lawrence down and helped us to our first natty in over 10 years, and yet here you are bitching.

You want him to suit up and go make tackles himself?

Who has had an offense as explosive as ours, scoring so quickly and a defense that is shutting people down? If you want a dominant defense go back to the old days of long run first drives all game that eat clock.

Trust me having more posts on tigerdroppings doesn’t make you any more of a “expert”.

From week one on, when the defense needed to get a stop they always came through.

They were definitely dominant at the end of the year, but they were clutch all season.

With an offense like we had this year, the number of stops via punt, turnover or turnover on downs relative to the number of total possessions is a much better gauge than traditional metrics like yards and points allowed. When we needed stops, we got them.

Aranda wasn’t perfect. His defenses could have done a better job at pressuring the quarterback and forcing turnovers. But to criticize over that is petty given the bottom line.

Winning is all that matters. I’ll take Aranda’s LSU defense that gave up 20 ppg over Venables’ defense that gave up 10 ppg, but surrendered 628 yards (should have been more like 670 if Chase catches that pass in the endzone) and 42 points (could have easily been 59 if LSU doesn’t make uncharacteristic mistakes and show mercy late in the 4th) when it mattered most.

Reality is LSU’s defense probably holds opponents to 10 ppg give or take and 240 or so ypg playing Clemson’s schedule.

People who aren’t LSU fans or rabid CFB fans don’t comprehend the gauntlet of elite teams LSU destroyed just to get to the championship game, then win it in blowout fashion.

Exactly. Yet people wanna bitch and moan and shite on Aranda like he wasn’t a good DC. Good grief. The man didn’t just get a P5 HC gig because he’s a scrub.
