Why don't we throw to the running backs?

Not really sure about the others, but Fournette had great hands in high school, why don't we throw to him? Seems like we could complete some easy throws to the backs to build up the qbs confidence and get him in space in the process.

because we're to busy handing it to them?

We're unimaginative and Miles doesn't trust his QB. How the frick we haven't lined LF up in the slot against a LB yet is beyond me.

Play might work too well

AJ did against MSU on the first series and the refs called a bulldonkey penalty on the OL/

because most of them (save #18) keep dropping them.

The four backs have caught 13 out of 52 passes, or 25%.
What else do you want?

Our backs have already caught 13 passes this year.... and thats actually a lot for us in just 4 games.

Do you actually watch any of our games?
We tried to throw to the RBs several times in the Wisconsin game and Jennings had no semblance of any kind of touch on his throws in that situation. I guess you only notice screens when they turn into 50 yards plays or something.

it has been successful every time we've done it (that is if the pass was on target) and it's gained good yardage.

Why don't we throw to the running backs?
06 yard pass to Hilliard (penalty)
04 yard pass to Magee
13 yard pass to Magee
03 yard pass to Magee
09 yard pass to Magee
01 yard pass to Fournette

We barely throw the ball to our wide receivers, much less runningbacks

The more disturbing question is why don't we throw any quick hitting passes like slants, 5 yard ins and outs, etc. When you have an Oline that 'a struggling, quick passes are a way to take pressure off of them. I don't think I've seen LSU even attempt a slant or quick out yet this season.

Many of you have just overreacted and got drunk watching the game. No problem with me, I am the same way. Then I rewatch the game later to get a feel for what actually went down, good or bad.
However after a loss many ranters come on here spewing total BS constantly. After a win the same group thinks we are going to the "ship", or at least till we accumulate 2 or 3 losses.
I think a great deal of this is although passionate fans, many do not have a fundamental understanding of the game they care so much about.
Take for example the defense, anybody with serious FB sense could see our DEs and LBs were decent not great SEC players and that the DTs were going to be a problem after three games. We could also see the OL and TEs although a veteran group was struggling with the new zone blocking concepts, and LSU was ranked 8th and 3-0.
This doesn't mean these guys will not get better, many of them will do just that and some will not.
This thread is typical of all this. RBs have caught 25% of the total receptions even though LSU cannot complete a short pass( I agree to an extent but they have 1 out of 4 and we know the TEs are not getting much). I probably should have saved this for a BH vs AJ thread. LSU is averaging 13 catches per game...a big problem. I think Harris should play more snaps.Half the threads on here seems about the QBs
However, if both lines do not improve significantly. I am not sure it will matter. They can improve, the OL and TEs are full of veterans and haven't forgotten how to block from last year, if they understand and execute their assignments. The DL other than Hunter and Rasco are young and they should get better as well. Will both lines improve enough to make a difference? This will make or break LSU's season, because after this game, I don't see any easy ones at this juncture.

how many did he miss with a bad throw? Moreover, how many were passed so that YAC was maximized?

I don't understand it. A lot of PAC 12 teams go to their RB often in the pass game. Cam hand two of the best receiving RBs ever in Rice and LT. A guy like Fournette should be getting 4-5 looks out of the backfield a game.
They need to tell Jennings to look for his dump off option. We need RBs as a second option, not the primary like on screens. We've run plenty of those, and for the most part, only the inside screen gets thrown right.

Why don't we throw to the running backs, tight end(s), have a short passing game, why do we run a pass play with only one WR, and why does our screen game look like dog crap?
FIFY.
