Most of the older posters here remember how Skip motivated players by using videoes and stories and such. Skip had a very high Baseball IQ. You felt like the players had someone who would put them in the best position to be successful. With Paul, I don't sense that he knows how to get his team focused through motivation and instruction. I understand that's why there are hitting coaches and pitching coaches but what does PM actually do on game day ?

Mainieri has a job for several more seasons regardless. I just don't feel confident with him at the helm for some reason.

Sounds like a hipster, folk trio.

Honest answer, i.e. minus all the hate. When CPM was being courted by Texas, Lang & a good number of other players talked to him bout staying. Lang specifically has been quoted as saying how much he wanted CPM to stay. Those comments are factual, not rumors. Give some examples, then, of those players..a player will do...that wants CPM fired.

hey respected his coaching ability. They knew that if Skip called for a fastball inside, then if the pitcher located that pitch he would get an out. They knew that if Skip called for a base runner to steal second base, there was a good chance he'd be safe. The players didn't doubt Skip's decision making. I don't think that is the same for the players under the current staff.

If you are trying to say no players ever doubted Skip's decision making, I can assure you for a fact that is not the case.
