Tharold Simon said they couldn't. That's why.

Who would they play? None of the JUCO or Community Colleges in Louisiana have a football program, unless I am missing someone.

Why does LSU-E even exist? It should certainly be shut down or transitioned out of the LSU system to a JUCO system.

It is quite expensive to run a football program. We recently just adopted men and women's soccer.

It's really small. There JUCO's here in TX that are the size of SELU or NSU

What’s so bad about Eunice? It’s actually a decent town. It’s much better than a majority of towns similar in size in La

There was talk briefly about starting a football program at BRCC, but I think that fizzled out and went away.

It's because of the Purple Peacock Provision the school charter.

If LSU-E had a football team, they would just be one more state school that beats ULL.

Pretty much.

It would be a good thing for the D1 schools in the state to have an in-state JUCO to stash guys at. It would also be a good landing spot for all the guys that go out of state to some random D1 school and end up transferring out after a year because it's too far from home.

A lot of those guys end up at 1AA schools, but having a JUCO in Louisiana may get them back at D1 schools instead.

I don't think it's really feasible right now though with like 13 football programs in the state currently. If we were ever able to trim the number of 4 year schools down by a few, it could be something that would make sense.

Why doesn't LSUS, LSUA, and UNO have a football team? For that matter why doesn't Southern University Shreveport have a football team?

Yep E Mississippi is one of 60 CCs with football programs. Just looked it up, there are 680 CCs in US, which means less than 1/10 have football programs.
