Nodoby is questioning what you saw. Again, understand that Gametracker is independent of LSUSports.net. It is unofficial. Someone who is running that (NOT affiliated with LSU) mistakenly posted the wrong winning pitcher. HERE is the link...lsusports.net...to the OFFICIAL boxscore.

Ott didn't come in until LSU had the lead. As far as recording an out, if Ott had given up the lead without recording an out, he would be the losing pitcher even though it would be scored as 0.0 IP

I'm almost afraid to post this, for fear that it may blow some people's minds. But to take your correct example a step further, if Ott came in with a runner already on base and allowed that runner to score, he would not get the loss (Ranaudo would), he would still be scored as 0.0 IP (assuming they pulled him right after that, like in your example), and the earned run (assuming it was earned) would be charged to Ranaudo.

damn you are a sensitive little bitch. That link might be from LSUsports.net, but it is not LSUsports.net. The official boxscore posted says that AR was the winning pitcher AS HE SHOULD BE.

Talk about overreacting to something, Jesus Christ

yeh well, sounded like I was being called a liar. I know the link is to the NCAA site, I just stated I got it off the LSU site.

I don't know the correct ruling, and I personally think it's 50:50 reading the rule book, so I emailed the NCAA for clarification.

BWAHAHAHA...it is NOT 50:50....get over it. Did you really email the NCAA? I hope you did not indicate that you were an LSU fan.

This is the most ridiculous thread I've ever read on the rant. It's so obvious that AR is the winning pitcher. He pitched the complete inning before we scored the run. So, going into our AB, AR was the pitcher of record. MO became the pitcher after we took the lead. By the time MO came on, he could only get a save, not a win unless Baylor tied the game in the bottom of the inning. Going into Baylor's last AB, AR could only win the game, not lose it.

What is so hard about this, other than a bunch of posters do not know the rules of baseball! A lot of ignorance has been shown in this thread.
