You don't know how to read a balance sheet, do you?

According to your link, TAF has $2.79 million in "unrestricted cash."

The $265 million includes the "property and equipment" it owns and the "pledges to contribute" its members have made, but not yet paid.

I doubt if the $2.79 million would even cover the annual commitments for supplemental pay to coaches TAF has contractually made.

Stop crying about the parking fees and just park east of Highland Road for free. Anyway, the parking fees are being assessed by LSU, NOT TAF.

Because the south stadium upper deck will cost $500 million.

This number cannot be legit or else the State of Louisiana is allowing some serious highway robbery.

It costs less than $1 billion to build an entirely new, top of the line 90,000 seat stadium, but will cost basically half of that to add 12,000 to 15,000 seats at most to Tiger Stadium?

"permit required tailgating locations"

I see where you were coming from, but this really isn't accurate either. The permit gives you somewhere to park. But anyone can drop their stuff off and tailgate where ever they want.

You're talking about something completely different. You're talking about the pay lots. I'm talking about the people all around the parade grounds, near the greek theater, up Highland Road, South Stadium Drive near Tureaud Hall, etc. Those aren't permits.

WHY SHOULD i HAVE TO PAY AND THEY DON'T ? You want to play big shot, ya gotta pay. If you can't afford a couple of bucks, tough !

Sounds like a typical person from Louisiana, always wanting something for nothing.

Everybody that drives on campus should have to pay SOMETHING to the university that day for that right.

I can see that, and I don't have a problem with these changes. I wish they would have offered season ticket holders the chance to buy these as a season pass to avoid the inevitable clusterf**k on gameday, but I have no problem with the concept.

However, under current conditions you don't "HAVE" to pay anything. You choose to.

I wanted over 10 years for the RIGHT to get my spot, and love it. No matter how early or late I am, I got a spot, bama, gators, don't matter ! Well worth it.

Thats fine, it is your choice to do so. If I had the chance I would do the same. Because I want to, not because I have to.

No, most of that is assets, not cash.

Go ahead and try to drop stuff off and tailgait in a lot that requires a permit to park and see what happens. If you don't have a permit, you can't be in that lot...Period!

Do you think someone is actually going around checking tailgaters for parking passes? You can't park in a paid lot without a pass, that much is obvious, and you can't take up parking spots with your tailgate setup (as is the case with any lot)...but there are no "reserved" tailgating areas.

And yes, I've tried it...for 6 years to be exact. We park in a very small free lot then walk across the street and set up in the corner of a pay lot between some buildings where there are no parking spaces. Last year I did manage to buy a pass for the lot so I wouldn't have to get there so early, but even without it Ive never had any trouble nor has anyone in our group.

Never mind, can't argue with stupidity.

In the future, try to limit your arguments to things you actually know about. When you purchase a reserved parking permit, read the attached documentation and let me know what it says.

Now if we could just get the tuition up to the national average, LSU would be cooking

Tell us more. You seem to have the inside story on Apple. How much do they have? How do you know?

I'm not arguing, I'm just stating what my group does and what I believe to be the policy. Its called a discussion.

What does the documentation say? Unless I overlooked it, neither the parking nor tailgating policies listed on lsusports.net and in the Fan Guide mention anything about areas being prohibited for tailgating due to their proximity to a paid lot. Maybe I just overlooked it. Or maybe we are just talking about two different issues.
