Do you seriously not think Aranda is the most valuable member of our staff right now?

The guy has our defense playing on insane levels.

Don't forget O was jobless in 2014

Seriously, can you imagine hiring the HC for LSU one year removed from the unemployment line

Can you imagine Saban? Harbaugh, even Miles or others just taking a year off?

Go ahead. You are insane if you don't think Aranda is the star of this staff. Aranda is a better coach than O by some distance.

Wow. We have the dumbest fans on the planet.
Did you see how shitty our defense was last year?
The main difference between last year and this year is the defense. We gave up 20 points 10 times last year.

Last year we were 80th opponents passing yards per game.
We were 57th in opponents completions per game.

This year we have given up 1 passing td. We have given up the fewest tds in fbs.

Nutt took that same team to a Cotton Bowl win the next year. This proves what we know: O can recruit and coach DL

It also shows that Nutt won with O's players. I again state, that O learned a lot from that experience and now he has the chance to surround himself with superior coaches he could only dream about at Ole Miss. Miles & Cameron started the season with Harris- how could they not see him practice and realize he was not right for the starter job! O even said after the Bama game, he saw Harris in practice, there was no consideration for him to go in, as he knew he offered nothing- in other words, he was smart enough to see what the arse clowns Les & Cam didn't see or simply chose not to! It's cool that O is Cajun, but that has ZERO reason for me if I felt he was not the right choice. O is still in the chase and I don't see why he isn't being taken seriously.

when you have a career and are up for a new job, you are judged on prior performance. That's the very best indicator of future performance.

Coach O was 3-21 in the SEC at his only other permanent head coaching job. Sorry, but that's the most relevant data on the guy. And it's why he hasn't gotten any other permanent head coaching offers the last decade.

If he really wants to be a HC, he needs to go to a smaller school and kick arse. They the bigger jobs will open up.

Because he should go to a mid-major like every other coach and prove himself there.

Why do people want to deviate from the pattern that lead us to hire two NC winning coaches in a row?

Never mind...I heard him speak one time and he talked about how poorly he did at his first HC job. I just looked up his record for his first three years and he kicked butt. Guess he was being self deprecating. Haha.

Edit to add: I think O would do a good job as would most of the others listed. If not for an ill advised 4th down call vs mississippi state I think O's career and career record would look very different. They were a decent qb away from being pretty good (snead would be eligible the next year and make Nutt look smart).

You didn't say star of the staff, you said he "guided the revival". Where was this revival for the first 4 game under Les Miles?

Eta: let me be clear that I agree DA is the hands down star of the coaching staff. He didn't revive the team though. I'll assume you just used poor wording.

Il let you rethink using this as a plus for coach O. Houston nutt was better than coach O with coach O's players.

Its like you really think saying this is a plus for O. Whose players were O winning with At USC?

You think youre making a positive remark for O but youre just proving that O IS A GREAT RECRUITER AND AVERAGE COACH.

Doing the same thing he's been doing now. Without him, O wouldn't look half as good. Aranda has been fantastic all season. He's the star of the staff and he is a better coach than O.

He has. Our defense is the reason for our wins.
Oregon isnt running the offense or the defense yet somehow Orgeron is the reason we are winning.

Yeah Coach O isn't going to be anything like Don Shula, Pete Carroll and Bill Belicheck.

There are 40 different COORDINATORS, im not even counting head coaches, with better resumes than Coach O. But but but he sounds cajun.

Give me these 40 names........

AGAIN YOU are just crying like A baby that O has done A GREAT job with this years team when Miles could NOT... I knew this was coming from you.... You can't stand that this team is playing way better with O than they did with your boyfriend LES....

And why he should be hired as HC if the decision comes between O and Aranda.

You cant prove he will do well.

He isnt coaching the offense. He isnt coaching the defense. Yet youre giving him the credit. The hypocrisy with you is eye opening

Because he hasn't taken another HC job since and been successful to mend his resume.
