Granted JJ might not throw that many pick sixes.
Granted Lee has made some real poor throws and is clearly struggling.

But:
JJ is clearly less talented than JL ( 3 stars vs. 4 stars as per Scout ) and has spent far ( a year ) less time in the system and has hardly played, let alone start a game.

Also JJ runs a 40 in 4.6 sec. That's not fast by SEC standards. How is he mobile?

his ability to run would have helped us out tremendously last week. but, i trust that the coaching staff has there reasons for not playing him last week. i mean, he may have come in and thrown a pick 6 or something.

I don't. He will be a change of pace but JL is the future at QB for us.

have to admit. i'm one of them. however, i remember being so disqusted in 04 watching two rotate. i remember saying, man just leave one in there. i don't care how bad he does. well, it looks like we are doing that this year and i am still not satisfied.

Rivals and Scout and whoever the frick else likes to point out these stars so much can stick 'em up their arse, it means jack shite. JJ's speed is decent for a QB, and most want to see what JJ can do with the feeling being he could do no worse.

I picked up on the sarcasm (at least it appeared to be sarcasm) but seriously, I don't think it's so much that everyone thinks JJ will be that much better. Just that he couldn't possibly be any worse than JL last week. He should have come in if for nothing else than to spell Lee and have a change of pace, and mabye JL could sit back and catch his breath, relax, review his mistakes with the coaches, and observe the live game with the coaches while they show him what should be done on a particular play. JMO though.

Objectively, he really is farther along than most freshman QBs. Most QBs don't see the field at all until their SO or JR seasons. So much can happen in the next couple of years. Just because JJ is behind JL right now doesn't mean he won't pass him up in the spring and take the job in the fall. Just because JL is struggling right now doesn't mean he won't make huge strides in the off season and really separate himself going into the fall.

Is JJ faster than RP? RP wasn't a burner, however he had some quickness and was a physical runner.
JJ didn't appear to very elusive nor physical in his goal line run where he fumbled the ball.

Like I don't understand people being so quick to anoint JJ the savior, I certainly don't understand y'all dismissing him already either.

I'm not sure that JJ will be "better" than JL, but I think he will open up a new dimension to the offense with his running abilities... something that JL certainly has not showed as of yet
