I live in Colorado and work with people who don't understand college football and the passion that SEC fans have. I'm curious as to why you might personally hate Bama for reasons aside from mine.

For me it's because of:
Harvey Updyke
Albert Means
Krystal's
Their annual SEC East opponent is a joke
The SEC offices being located in Alabama
For claiming more national championships than they've actually won.

The fans, their ignorance and arrogance. Mark my words: in a few years, when Saban retires and the wheels fall off, Auburn/Florida State/Ole Miss will have a massive resurgence of fans.

I live in Birmingham and work throughout the state with my main customers being in Tuscaloosa. I have been catching hell from them since the 2011 NC and after every loss I somehow get a Tuscaloosa newspaper in my yard. Unless you are an LSU fan living here, hearing it 365 days a year, you'll never truly understand the insane fanbase of Alabama.
Saying all of that, I still respect them more than aTm fans because they've at least won something and have a reason to be arrogant.

I lived there once, but losing about 10 yrs in a row to "the bear" did it for me!!! Also them having Saban has nothing to do with it for me.

I have to admit this is somewhat intensified because of their relative success against us over the past 40 years or so, but I believe I would feel this way if the series were more even:

Because of their fans and because of this sense of "entitlement" they all seem to display. This is why they kill each other over Bama games. This is why they commit extreme acts of vandalism over games. This is why they claim championships no one else recognizes (which would be 1 thing, if you were Ole Miss and had no other choice, but quite another if you have a nice collection of recognized titles).

They have nothing else, to speak of. They handle neither victory, nor defeat particularly well. They go into someone else's stadium, perhaps rated much more highly, perhaps favored to win by 3 touchdowns - eek out a modest victory in the closing minutes, then proceed to taunt their foe with an organized chant, "We just beat the hell out of you."

frick all of them. Seriously. Derrick Thomas is the only one I could barely stomach - and that was because he lived it - no talk, no hype, perhaps the best college football player I ever say play, live.

Cajunduby hit the nail on the head. Asshats like you see all over the State with big A's on their trucks who have no connection to Bama, nor do they have any connection to a college education. Just bandwagon pricks.

Nick Saban going there made me dislike them. I started to really dislike them after the refs failed to overturn the call of the catch by patrick peterson, he was clearly in bounds. refs are always in their pocket and so is the SEC office. Once they beat us in a rematch that shouldve never taken place and ruined our perfect season. I will hate them for the rest of my life following that and wish them many disastrous seasons once saban leaves.

Only hate them a little bit less when they suck.
