If moochers know that they could always come in and sit in an open purple seat they haven't paid for, what incentive would anybody ever have to actually pay purple prices?

Honest answer: most of them are old as frick and don't know how to use a computer. There really is no way to get these people to sell their tickets, or give them away.

why doesn't LSU just raise the price of general admission, and have a first come, first sit policy?
everyone wins

The people who have to WORK would always lose. And the people who can barely afford the lowest priced seats would be priced out entirely. The next time you go to Vegas, why don't you insist you get the high-roller suite at regular room rates if it's open and you got there first.

It's called Priceline dot com and it seems to be working fine for them.
Vegas loves when they can unload high priced rooms for even cheaper rates when they would go unused. It's smart business if there aren't whiny little bitches making noise about the other person "that got the same as me , but for less money"

Vegas =/= alex box stadium.
more fans would show up, and LSU would still get their money.
southwest airlines has the right idea.

Has anyone thought about the people who work damn hard to have the extra money to afford the seats and the people who choose to just work to get by. There is a big difference , like it or not. I am sure if you worked 60 plus hrs. a week and were able to go to 2-4 games a week and were paying this extra money and walked in to see some ahole sitting in your seat, I am positive you demand them to get the hell out of your seat and don't come back. That's after you have blessed every person responsible to keep your seat open because you damn well paid for it. For God's sakes people Obama is not your Mama here.

So we have the more expensive seats, empty, and are paying people to make sure it stays that way.....??? Brilliant

"money and walked in to see some ahole sitting in your seat, I am positive you demand them to get the hell out of your seat and don't come back"
again, that is not the issue
we are talking about empty seats, sometimes empty SECTIONS.
no one ever has said someone can sit in someone who is attending the games seat

May not be smart but it is the way it is. Sorry of young one who has no clue yet.

I don't know if its already been answered, but those seats are also for guests of the players. These guests are given wristbands to walk back and forth between the champions club and the purple seats.
At times you will have 20 people in the champions club all move to the purple seats, or vice versa.
They don't want people seating in those seats because they want to let the people with the wristbands choose wherever they would like to sit. Kinda like a royal treatment, if you will

socialist?
seriously... if you aren't going to show up to the games, why pay for tickets?

I'm surprised that there's been so many posts against "seat improvement" at games. I've done it in Dodger Stadium in Game 1 of the frickin World Series, Yankee Stadium, Ballpark in Arlington and Camden Yards. Add to that Mavericks and Dallas Stars. It's not frickin stealing!

I was just trying to get from one side of the stadium to the other , but you can't even do that. That seems a bit absurd to me.
Also if you want to make political insults then use proper grammar while doing it(This is to you gimns or whatever the frick your name is)
