Why do people care so much about playing an undefeated BAMA?

Really, if anything it is pointless. LSU should want BAMA to lose every game unless it helps us to get to the SEC CG. Forget the BCS championship game. It is out of our hands now.

I could care less if Bama is undefeated coming into BR or not. It makes no difference, and the hype will be just that HYPE! I'd rather LSU, with its inexperience, have an opportunity for a mulligan/bad game outside of that game. If Bama is undefeated, we put all our eggs in one basket and that is to win out. In all likelihood that isn't a high percentage occurrence at this point and time.

Thus, Geaux Ole Piss and beat the Tide.

Most people will agree that a one loss SEC team will go to the NC game. So it is not out of our hands.

No, most people won't agree hands down that will be the case. Fact is if UF, UGA or BAMA had 1 loss, then yes. It will take a lot for LSU after the UF game. People don't forget losses like that very easily.

People are really relying too heavily on the "respect" for the SEC argument. The Big 12 is actually thought to be even stronger than the SEC this year, so don't be surprised to see a Big 12 one-loss and USC or PSU in the championship game over a 1 loss SEC team. It will likely happen, especially if LSU is the one-loss team.

IMO USC would be the odd man out if there is a one loss BIG 12 team and a one loss SEC team. If Penn State were to go undefeated then yes I think it a one loss Big 12 team would possibly over ride a one loss LSU team.

Dude, USC will still go despite their loss to Oregon State. They lost on the road by 6? LSU lost by 30!! which one sticks out in the voters minds more?

Also, USC was a preseason top 1/2 this year and people still stick with that.

But USC lost to an unranked nothing team. However, I have to admit, from what I have seen so far, I think the Big 12 may be the best conference; it really takes a lot for me to admit that, but OK, UT & Missou look strong, & that is not even considering TxTech & OK St. Alabama beat Georgia & Clemson- neither of which has lived up to pre-season hype.

So what happens if LSU beats an undefeated bama and avenges the UF loss in the SEC championship game?............exactly! and dont hand me that we better hope we dont get UF again bullshite...I want em again. Lotta football left to play and i completely disagree with your arguement. I dont have the words to describe beating an undefeated #1 or #2 ranked bama...knocking them out of the SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME and THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. If you cant find some strong satisfaction in that then you wear the wrong colors.

It would be more helpful for LSU to beat an undefeated Alabama and win out than to beat an Alabama team with a couple of losses.

I think we will run the table if we win this weekend.

were you alive last year?

lsu loses their last reg season game to arkansas (not ranked), and gets in over a 2 loss OU, 2 loss USC, 2 loss Mizzou, 2 loss VT, 1 loss KU

if everyone has 1 loss at the end of the season, the sec and big xii will be in the championship.

I have no doubt LSU COULD avenge the loss to UF in the SEC CG if we get the chance, but reality is we still lost by 30.

Those claiming we lost the last game to Arky last season? That was in Triple overtime not in regulation and not by 30. both loses were in OT.

Secondly, last year there was only 2 BCS teams with only 1-loss going into the bowls (tOSU and Kansas) and both played no one and tOSU got in by name only.

A one loss Bama team will still likely be in the top 10 by the time we'd play them which is all that would matter.

Would it potentially help? Yes, but I don't think as much as many of you think. Reality is LSU and its fans should focus on what is best to get to the SEC CG and that is to have BAMA lose a game whether it be to Ole Miss or not. That gives LSU breathing room, and is necessary with the team we have this season.

we're not winning the title this year so we have to root for bama to lose as many times as possible. if you are an lsu fan rooting for bama then you are a fricktard.

Walrus,

If you are going to nit pick, then nit pick accurately. That was not his exact quote. Return and review, then go to the help board and learn how to use the quote feature before you start calling people out.

Statestreet, in all fairness to Walrus, I corrected my typo in the post after he brought it to my attention.

alright, it's just that walrus had only 4 posts at the time and 2 of those were grammar police postings. And he's a gump.

Because our only sig win so far is against Auburn, who royally suck this year, THEREFORE, if we were to beat an unbeaten Alabama (as a 1 loss) and could then beat Ole Miss & Arkansas (which we should) we would go to the SECCG with a much better resume than what we got now because what we got now aint exactly much.

As someone who personally attended the 05 bammer game where they were undefeated and we won in the 1st OT - the reason we want bammer to be undefeated when we play them is ...

THE LOOK ON THE BAMMERS FACES
