1st down: Run into 8 man front
2nd down: Run into 8 man front
3rd down: failed 8 yard pass
4th down: Punt

Rinse and repeat with this damn offense.

Other teams use these games as practice.

We shut down the offense. Plain vanilla. Typical Miles "don't want to show anything".

Does Etling need the work? He's started games in a Power 5 conference. He's not a true freshman. You just gotta hope he gets enough reps in practice to get his timing down with the receivers.

He still thinks powering it out with long, punishing drives in the second half works.

I'm all for that, but if we could open up with a defensive stop (hopefully more 3 and outs) and then jump on top of an opponent with quick and decisive scores, distance ourselves, and then use long punishing drives in the second half to kill clock and score to add to the pre-existing lead and break an opponent...

yeah, let's do that Les!

You've known for 11+ years Miles gets a lead and begins trying to run out the clock.

This works when you actually move have TOP in the first half. The only reason our time of possession is even on the board most of the time is because we run almost every play until we go 3 and out.
