Either way, LSU seems to bring out the best in Florida...or not quite the best in LSU.

That may be the best way to put it. Still, 2-6 isn't a good record. But, as pointed out, Wade took over a team that went 2-16 in the conference the year prior. He had to tear down the program to nothing basically and build it back up. So, it's really not fair to count that first loss against him.

Looks like saying "White owns Wade" was hyperbole on my part just going off of memory. It might actually turn out to be a good thing to play then again and possibly get a win. We really should have won the first time we played this year. I would say that LSU beat themselves more than Florida just outplayed and beat us.

Eta: It's 2-4. I'm an idiot.

And I had already corrected you on all this yesterday when you said it in the other thread.

Did you? I either missed it or just flat don't remember. My bad.

You're forgetting that Florida beat LSU in the SECT in 18-19. So Wade's overall record vs. White (at Florida) is 2-5.

Come on Alt, you are better than this.

They move the ball around, drive and kick. It usually comes down to how locked in we are defensively. (Which with Wade’s teams is usually a wildcard) of course the last game was more about LSU going through scoring droughts and not being able to stop the tall white guy.

It’s all good my man. We are all guilty of stating some bad takes on here based on perception rather than facts/reality. I used to be one of the worst offenders of it against Mays the first 2-3 years of his career, till I was finally shown the light.

My post to you was in the Lunardi thread. You should look at it, b/c it’s funny, the same point you just made a couple posts back about the first game not counting is essentially the same thing I said. lol

Generally you and I are of the same mindset when it comes to Wade and LSU basketball though.

You’re forgetting that Tony Benford was coaching that game.

Good point. Still, I think Benford was really nothing more than a figurehead and that was Wade's team with Wade's influence and Wade's decsions. I doubt Benford, or the staff deviated much at all from what Wade coached all season. Could Wade have drawn up a play or two to keep UF from winning that game (they did hit a virtual buzzer beater to do it). Maybe.

I'm not of the opinion that White "owns" Wade. But it is clear UF and White have a history of bringing their A game EVERY time they play LSU where they are inconsistent with just about everyone else.
