I don't dispute any of this. The question was why did he a 55 year old 30 plus year veteran of the coaching ranks suddenly in a matter of weeks change his preference of the style of QB he wants. I said its because that is what it took to win over Aleva and the board and get the job

because he basically ran his interim stint like a political campaign.

from his introductory presser as interim, he basically said everything as opposite of Miles as possible.

i honestly wouldn't be shocked to find out he had someone skimming message boards to get an idea on what the fans wanted. and that's what he said/did.

well he ain't campaigning anymore. so he can say and do whatever the he wants.

He's got a chubby little armadillo named Derek that scours the boards. Morning' Everybody...

The only source that matters is the word in the binder concerning style of qb play. This is what we need to know. Go to the binder, my son. Go to the binder.

I just have one question, of all the QBs you just named what is one thing they all have in common? By no means am I saying that the QB has to be Lamar Jackson and run for 150. To beat Bama you must do certain things, the first is to play with tempo, if you don't get them on their heels you have absolutely no chance, they are too good up front and coached too well to try and shorten the game with 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Second you have to have a Dual Threat QB, a mobile quarterback, whatever you want to call it but a guy that can create when things break down cuz guess what, things are going to break down and you have to have someone that's able to extend plays.

Easier to teach mobility in the pocket then it is to teach a runner how to read defense and progress through check downs especially when everything in their DNA says Pull it down and run

Because he has no idea how to be a HC and is just going along with public perception...aka doing what his boy DP tells him to do.

Maybe he saw that with pro style we can beat the snot out of inferior opponents but against more evenly matched teams we struggle.

Maybe he saw in those games where having a spread offense and duel threat qb could have given the team an advantage against Alabama, Auburn, and Fla

Brennan's decommitment is a clear sign of two people coming to LSU: Lane Kiffin and Cam Akers. Just my opinion...

Explain what issue Brennan would have with Akers.

Because he's hiring a spread OC. And this happened since he said he wanted to recruit pro style QB's

Do me a favor and go find the last time Saban lost to a pro-style offense. Don't worry I'll wait

Is O the only person in America that did not know this BEFORE the Bama game? We all knew that offense we trotted out there had no shot, yet we tried nothing different.

Then number of people in this thread okay with O changing his vivsion because he got the full time HC position is alarming.

The guy is just telling y'all what you want to here. He quickly realized his 'pro style' comments were not going to go over well with recruits and the base, so he had to pivot.

I think there's a very clear explanation, Lane Kiffin is going to be our OC. When CEO took the interim job, he probably didn't know who he was going to go after if he got the permanent job(OC Wise), shite at that point I don't think he thought he was gonna get the job. Well fast forward to the end of November, at this point he's probably already gotten the agreement in place with Kiffin to become our OC. Kiffin has seemed to really like the spread offense he is running and he told CEO he planned to keep it.

This is the only year I remember kiffin had a dual threat QB.

He's always been a pro style guy
