I posted an article, from ESPN, quoting a former LSU player explaining how it worked at LSU when he played there. He spent 5-6 hours a day practicing.
1. Not 5-6 hours a day practicing. 5-6 hours a day on football activities. The limit for mandatory activities (including organized film review, S&C under instruction from the S&C staff, and actual practice) is 4 hours per day and 20 hours per week. Players can spend more time on voluntary film review or training.
2. Even if you spend 6 hours a day, that’s still only 30 hours a week once you have your game day and mandatory off day. It’s not 60-80 hours.

Could it be …. because they don’t practice enough? What if …. sharp and clean SEC teams practice their teams twice as many hours per week as LSU?
