It's not about blowing every team out. It's about being CAPABLE of blowing out the bad teams like Syracuse. But for the most part, it's about things like not having multiple delay of games, penalties, and overall confusion every year, all year. The team looks as incohesive in game 11 as game 1. It never improves. Much of the problem is the QB but this has been endemic to LSU regardless of who the QB is. Mett is the exception and it still took him til his THIRD year to be good.

Good job adding single digit numbers, bud. Would it suck to lose to Bama and ark again? Absolutely, but a 6-2 conference record would still be improvement.

Improvement doesn't necessarily mean "headed in the right direction". Continue moving the goal posts though. You're in the minority; I promise.

There's single season improvement, and then there's using critical thinking to see if the program as a whole is headed in the right direction. And you may not be alone in your line of thinking. I didn't imply that. I just said you're in the minority, because you are.

Wait, I forgot, this is the rant where reason, objectivity, and speaking positively about Miles are the minority and threads crying about not winning pretty enough abound. I'll gladly be in that minority.

Not what I said, at all. You're not good at moving goal posts.
I said losing to Alabama again and OM/Arkansas again would not be viewed as "headed in the right direction".
Do most LSU fans not want to win titles? Do you typically have to beat Alabama to win the SEC? Do you need to win the SEC to make the playoff?
LSU fans clearly expect to win at the highest level. I assume you're older? Are you one of those never forget the 90s types that's just content with not sucking shite through a straw?

losing to the same teams every year repeatedly is probably far more detramental to a program than having a really bad season every couple of years.

You're right. I'm old. I was there in the 50's for the real glory years. I don't suck shite through a straw, but I do have to suck all my meals through one. I can barely operate this new fangled typewriter you kids call a computer. And if by "not sucking shite through a straw" you mean consistently competing in the top of the toughest division in the toughest conference in college football with a west title every few years and a SEC championship/national championship every so often, then yes I am content with that. If that's "mediocrity" or "the wrong direction", please name the multitude of programs that have been better than LSU in the past 5 years? 10 years? (you could even go back to "the 90's" and say 20 years)
The sky is falling, program is in a horrendous tailspin because of Miles attitude is just ludicrous. We will be better next year and I will enjoy every minute of it.

great post. i love the important statts of a winning team. against bama we converted only 3 third downs. did the same against Arkansas. if you can only manage 3 first downs why show up. players execute the plays. they execute the proper plays. i think our qb is good enuff. and we get #7 one more yr. our qb has a good arm. he runs very well. so lets go next year
