Remember when y'all had issues with Derek Stingley, Jr. returning punts and thought he called fair catches too often...at least he caught it.

At the end of fall workouts scrimmage they did 5 mins of special teams...can't expect to get better if you don't devote more time to the specials teams in live drills.

Thank God for the walk on Gregory Clayton. He's not gonna get YAC but he'll catch it. But really we didn't progress at all...yet

Well it helps to look the ball into your hands. You could see from the rear replay that just before the ball arrived, his head was looking at the tacklers and not the ball.

even the punts we did catch were sketchy. i want this practiced till 11pm at night. there is absolutely no reason to gift a team the ball in the red zone. felt like a momentum shift

I asked that out loud to nobody last night. Teams do it 4 to 5 times every game around th country. Why can't LSU do it? They don't practice it enough, that's why. It's too late to work on what needed to be worked on all off-season. That's what it's for.
Anybody remember all the stories of the off-season work done by the 2019 team? This ain't your 1A high-school team where you just showed up for practice, ran sprints, scrimmaged, played Defense, offense, and punted. It's high level.
You produce in the season based on how you worked in the off-season. Now it's a scramble to salvage the season and pretend they did something right.
