Why can’t we ever get an open shot?

Teams we play always get so many open shots, especially threes.

Our perimeter defense is arse, that’s why you’re seeing teams get wide open looks from deep.

Simple - it's called drive and kick. We don't do that.

Ball movement is terrible. No one makes hard cuts to make the defense move.

Our guards can’t stay in front of anyone. It’s been that way all season.

Because anytime any of our players drive the ball they’re shooting it 99.9% of the time. This team doesn’t drive and kick.

Nah, our on ball defense is the problem. They are getting penetration, which is forcing the help, and you can't recover from that.

Yup. Instead, they decide to launch up unnecessary three pointers from 5 feet beyond the arc with a man in their face.

A lot of those open looks for St. Mary's were because people were leaving to help Waters. We are getting beat way too much off the dribble.

I've been a have patience kind of guy. No more. We are seeing no fixing of problems. Naz is just a disaster. Tremont and Daryl are little better. Even Skyler seems to be recessing back to play of old. Start the walk-ons with Bigby, Emmitt and Days.

Bigly is so much better than Naz. How is Wade not seeing this?

It's plain and simple, no off the ball screens to free up looks whether it's in the post or for a 3. That's the way to improve your shooting % in your half court offense.

Man. I pretty much disagree with everything you wrote. I think Naz is a liability defensively at the end of games so maybe I’d sub him then.

They don't switch/communicate well on screens and their rotation is almost nonexistent. Defense is about knowing your opponent's strengths and forcing them to their weakness(all this done with great effort.)

I agree Naz underperformed in that game.
He looked lost.
This team needs to play together more. The chemistry isn’t there yet.
Hopefully soon this team can perform the way they are capable of doing.

Ever?

Geez it's amazing that we even played competitively against top 20 teams since we suck so bad. Personally I'm encouraged that this team will continue getting better. Year 2 of a new coach who inherited a garbage program. We aren't going to the final four this year. Enjoy the progress and watch him build a program.

Seeing all the bitching makes me wonder why attendance is so bad. If all y'all care so much go support the damn team.
