Aren't you kind of doing the same thing? You're so in love with our WRs that you don't realize that Daniels is also one of our best weapons on offense.
The offense is obviously a work in progress. They've improved each game and hopefully will continue to improve as we get into the meat of our SEC schedule in a few weeks. But at this point in the season, why do you care so much how we score points and move the chains?
Daniels is probably never going to be the passer you want as LSU's starting QB, but he gives this team the best chance to win games.

quote:This right here. We don’t want to watch this shite again. We want a QB who is a pocket passer that can also scramble if need be. Not a QB who runs after his first read isn’t there. That is a sign of a poor QB especially after 30+ starts.
So were Jennings and Harris. Jordan Jefferson too. The fanbase is tired of qb's who can't pass year after year. Why ? It's mind numbing how many pitiful passers LSU has had in the fold the last 10-12 years.

It’s not cherry picking friend. Those are awful numbers. If JD could actually see and throw this team is a real contender. So far, in his 4th year as a starter, he cannot.

I think it’s a combination of things.
I think you have some people who are never happy. They’re never going to be happy until our quarterback makes the perfect decision every play. I don’t think there are many people like this out there, but I do think it’s there.
You have some people who didn’t want Daniels in the first place. So they’re going to critique every single thing he does that he think is negative. I don’t think there are many of these people out there, but it’s also there.
I think you have the majority of people who would rather have a qb who is pass first. Some people are thinking about future defenses and people we have to play against. And they believe that this form of quarterback play is not sustainable. I can understand their concerns.
But even though I understand people who fall into that last category, I think that there are factors that they may not be considering. Like the fact that Daniels has done this for three seasons and has never gotten hurt. So although yes, him running is more of a risk, it’s not like he is injury prone. I think that some people want more out of Daniels than what he is able to do. I do think he has the ability to do a lot, but I also think his natural instinct is always going to be to run if it’s there. And he’s doing pretty good so far. So I’m fine with it. I would say let’s let him roll with it.

You can’t beat Alabama with neither QB but JD gives you a chance

It's absolutely cherry picking to harp on one negative number while ignoring any positives (17th in the nation in QBR, 30th in passer rating, 70% completion rate, 6 TDs, 0 ints). I've said probably 4 or 5 times in this thread that his YPA is too low. YPA is by far his worst stat and it's not good, but to only focus on his worst stat, IMO, is cherry picking. It also doesn't consider that State was dropping 7 and 8 guys all night and much of what Daniels had to do was take what he was given. Obviously he missed some guys that were open and he needs to improve in this area, but overall he managed the passing game well.
I maintain that through 3 games, he's been a serviceable passer and dynamic with his legs.
