Need to lean towards recruiting some hitters. Yes we've been putting some great defensive position players on the field, but it's getting old watching every midweek school put in some reliever that has the game of his career against us. Meanwhile we can't find a single pitcher who doesn't give free passes.

Because this team is mentally weak and there isn't one leader in the dugout including the coaching staff. It's the only explanation for the inconsistencies at the plate and the inefficiencies of a pitching staff that can't find one guy on the roster not named Alex Lange and occasionally Jared poche to throw three innings of quality baseball.
You have a defense behind you that is on pace to break a record for defensive proficiency and you don't even let them make a play on 10 batters. And this is not an anomaly. Pitchers have been struggling all year with little to no improvement. I don't know what Alan Dunn is getting paid but it's too much.

It's a combo of both. Walking 10 or more runners by the pitchers have an affect.
But yes it is typical of the hitters hitting first pitch. It is probably because they are afraid that the pitcher they face will get ahead and the batters don't like to get 2 strikes on them. So they make up their minds to swing at the first pitch hoping to get a good one to hit.

I have had enough shite from Mainieri and this team. It is obvious there is a lack of focus. 19 fricking losses already. This team lacks focus and a desire. It's shameful.
