What, you're penciling in a "W"? Given what I see now I'd say we're in trouble but posted about hoping our QB problems are no longer.
Never said that, I think it'll be a good game. I'm about 50/50 on it right now. But it's not a make or break game IMO. If we win it's a HUGE springboard to a possible NC season. If we lose, as we all know it's much better to lose early in the season, as we have plenty of time to climb back up.

Still, I love having a quality OOC game.
As do I. It makes the season much more exciting. I don't get the people who bitch about having an exciting primetime game on a national stage. Much better than opening the season against ULL or the like.

This game helped us get into the NC, no doubt.
On the other hand, if VT had not sched. us, they probably would have cruised into the NC with one loss.
Not a wise game. LSU benefits from the current rep of the SEC in that if we win the conference or even lose one game we are in the ship. If we lose this game, we will have to go undefeated in the SEC.
Also, nothing brings in recruits & money like the BCSNC game.

I know they went to the Rose Bowl this year. I know they were ranked No. 11 pre-season.
You do realize that don't you?
I mean I know it's not Top 10...but that's pretty formidable. I think we knew what we were scheduling and I ain't got no problem with it.

Because Auburn cheated us out of the chance to play them this year!

LSU vs Oregon will most likely be 2 top ten teams playing in week one. Imagine the national exposure this game will get. And if LSU wins, imagine what that win will do for the entire season. Can you say "quality road win" to start the season?
And Oregon will be just as rusty as LSU. What makes them so invincible? This matchup reminds me a lot of the 2009 Boise State vs Oregon game. Boise State beat the living shite out of them so bad, Blount threw a punch at the end out of frustration and was kicked off the team a majority of the season. That game skyrocketed Boise State in the rankings for the rest of the season.
I really, really like LSU's chances in this matchup. Our defense will be fresh and going balls to the wall with no injuries. If the game was in the 3rd or 4th week, not so much. But week one, yes indeed.
And, like others have said, would much rather see this match up than UL Monroe or UL Lafayette.

quote:Auburn '04? But going undefeated in the SEC is not a stretch either. Bama did it in '08 (until the SECCG) and again in '09 then Auburn did it this year. Three years in a row an SEC team has run the gauntlet unscathed. It's a very difficult task, I understand but it's been happening annually.

no way Auburn 04 team would get left out today.
