Please do not insult McNeese like that.
dude, if mcneese tried to make the jump to DIV I they would be lucky to be mentioned in the same breath as the UL u'pickem.

god, you're an arrogant, smug bastard.
For the past few months, that's just been adding up. It's sad that I get that just off of message board threads.
I say that because you have absolutely no clue about McNeese and you're saying shite just because they're a I-AA team.
I GUARANTEE you your stupid little last statement is false and I would bet every penny I have on it.
I told myself that statements like this would happen all week and I've ignored them, but you've been just pecking away all fricking week. Go back to your hole somewhere and wait until Miles fricks up again and come back and bitch and moan and complain like you've been doing for the past 5 months.

I'm not talking about you.
Never said I thought one would be able to start for LSU.

I'll tell you why we are all looking past them. It's because their QB is out as well as to starting runningbacks. Kinda common knowledge

I am surprised that Tech owned McNeese in the old days when they were in the same division. I have respect for the Cowboys and they have had a good program but should do better in the FCS playoffs.

1. McNeese is D-1. (not D II as someone suggested)
They just have 30 fewer scholarships.
2. Their starting QB and two best RBs are injured.
FOr most teams in BCS conferences in D-1, that would mean that they had little chance. UK lost one great RB and I suspect they are going to lose to USCe because of it.
With their best skill players out, I am not worried at all.
They will play hard, and if the ball bounces for them, maybe they can win.
Here is an analogy:
I remember going up against future pros in AAU ball in hoops.
My guys gave them all they could eat.
We were down one at the half.
They steamrolled us in the 2nd half though.
I would guess that happens with this game, too.
Effort and teamwork on the part of the lesser team can do wonders.
Being better in all phases of the game counts too though.
In my own case, I had 8 points at the half, and a future pro was guarding me. He told me at the half I would not score again.
I got 2 more. (we had played against each other on the playgrounds and he ALWAYS beat me.) He played for the Cleveland Cavs when he graduated.
PS My best moment was being asked by a future Hall of Famer NBA (Walt Frazier) to work out with him to help him with his ball handling, 4 years after the game in question.

Don't get me wrong, McNeese has had some damn good teams over the past 10 years but this is not their year to play LSU.
I still wish they would bring back "Go to Hell USL!"

Don't need the pity. I know what's going to happen in this game and never expected anything different.
I just can't stand posters that post about something like they know what they're talking about when they absolutely have no clue.
But then again, he's been posting like that for a few months now anyway.
I've kept my cool all week.
I know what kind of team is going in this week for the sacrifice. Like it's been said all week, it would have been alot more fun if it were played some other year. Like the last two years.

yeah, kinda like ULL vs. Okie light last week. ULL gave them a great first half. but then in the 2nd half, Okie Light made quick work of ULL.
honestly, that is the best result McNeese could hope for.
now, McNeese vs. say Tulane. That would be a game.

We're not a playoff team this year.
...as soon as they fire Lark Hebert (Def. Coor.), I think this team will be just fine.

We played them last year. Lost by a couple points because our Def. Coord. sucks terribly and doesn't know how to adjust to ANYTHING.
Happened vs. New Hampshire in the playoffs last year. Their TE had the game of his life. DC wouldn't adjust to stop him.
Happened vs. Tulane. Their RB had over 200 yards and one WR had over 150 yards receiving. DC wouldn't adjust.
Happened vs. UNC 2 years ago. We had UNC beat and leading in the middle of the 4th quarter. What happens? Brandon Tate has over 200 yards recieving because the Def. Coor wouldn't adjust.
as for ULL......

I am confident that McNeese's 1995 team would have played a great game against LSU's 1995 team, guarantee the 2000 team would have scored on LSU if they played that year (scored 2 tds on Miami, including one on their first possession of the game, and racked up 409 yards of offense and 197 on the ground against that Miami defense and a Miami team that produced at least 20 NFL players including Ed Reed) and the 2002 team would have at least scored a TD, quite possibly another on special teams with B J Sams returning.

1. As mentioned McNeese is Div 1,
2. McNeese would have at least 2 wins (ULL and ULM),and
3. McNeese is smart enough to not try and be something they are not unlike the above referenced teams, especially since Louisiana colleges outside of LSU have horrible funding especially in regards to athletics compared to non-state schools like say Texas in order to legitimately compete at the FBS level. Then again outside of TCU, Utah, and Boise State, its arguable if any Non-BCS Conference team actually legitimately competes at the FBS level.

My dad played football at mcneese so I respect them and somewhat follow them. It'd be cool to have them in I-A. What's keeping them from making the jump? Money?
Posted on 10/14/10 at 10:11 pm to LSULaw2009
If this tells you anything Southeastern scheduled them for Homecoming.

Mostly money. That and I think they understand what they are. They're a smaller school that belongs at a smaller level. McNeese has been insanely successful at the I-AA level. We have more Southland Conference championships than the rest of the field in the conference COMBINED.
We're happy where we're at and have a chance to play for a National Championship every year. If McNeese would make the jump, there would never be a shot at that being that we would be in, more than likely, the Sun Belt.
Troy, ULM, La. Tech, North Texas all are former members of the SLC.
