There are plenty of LSU fans in Houston that wouldn't have to "travel" to the game that would be willing to go to it on Thursday night, but I guess you know better and there would be no one in purple and gold at the game.

Yep, lets just keep Houston in mind

Maybe, but who knows.

Even every other Thanksgiving would not be cool.

There is a big difference between playing on the Friday after and playing on Thanksgiving Day.

If I have to pick between LSU football and spending the day eating Thanksgiving turkey with 10 to 20 family members, LSU football will lose every time.

Personally I don't give a shite. I rarely travel to away games. As a matter of fact I may travel to this one one day because my wife's family are A&M alums. But it's pretty inconvenient for most fans and TV ratings will suck.

I think it's cool to be the only big college game on a holiday. After teeing off all day on turkey with the fam we could sit around and drink and watch LSU
Lsu fans and am fans will be the only ones watching when you go up against the nfl. Ratings will be terrible.

Ha! You act like everyone outside your schools fan base watches NFL only. There are way more people out there that like college ball over the NFL then you think. You'd rather go against 10 other big NCAA D1 games on a Saturday night when most college football fans are busy with their school over going up against 1 Dallas/Lions game? You would THE college football game to watch.

but for those of us who do, is anyone psyched about getting your day with your family blown up for an LSU game?

So you travel to every road game? If so, then you might have a complaint if you have to miss a game to hang out with your family on Thanksgiving, but the majority of people on here don't travel to every road game anyway. The majority are bitching for what MIGHT happen in the future.

the game on thanksgiving day is a sacrifice and if you disagree then sorry you don't have anything to sacrifice

I do disagree. I am married and going to this game with my wife, father and father in law on Thanksgiving night would be a hell of a lot of fun for us. I guess I need prayers.

Yep, because LSU definitely needs to cater to their entire fan base for a road football game. That is definitely how that works.

Then go to the game and don't complain about it.

The people that will be traveling for the game and the fact that we have only played 2 games ever on thanksgiving? Yeah

bc the only people that go to away games are the ones living in that area

I have no idea what the SEC will do in the future. I know that the article mentioned that LSU will NOT be playing A&M at home on Thanksgiving Day in 2015. It went on to say that they will play them either Friday or Saturday to end the season. That is the only information I have to go by. I am not going to get riled up and bitch because, in some poster's opinions, the SEC office is going to "screw us" and make us play Thanksgiving night 2 years from now.

Of course, and I really don't see how having kids will not allow me to go to a football game on Thursday night, but would allow me to attend a Friday afternoon game. If it does, I will be perfectly content watching the game at my house with the aforementioned wife, father and father in law and my son/daughter. Watching the game on TV would also mean my mom would be there - she doesn't typically go to games but would watch on TV. Either way, I'm fine.

Compelling argument. Really relevant.

How do you not understand it is easier for everyone that holds thanksgiving as important, to go to a friday game instead of thursday?

Someone can do all of their family stuff, turn around and head to a friday or saturday game. It really is simple

El aggie, what I would rather do is since we are being forced to do something we don't want to do because its am tradition,, I want a return of a lsu tradition and make am play Saturday night in Tiger stadium.

I don't care much about the tv but I do care what's right. If we are forced to do what am wants, you guys should have to repay the favor and play us at night when we want.

I seem to differ from lsu admin though because they requested to keep the Friday game time.

Where did I argue that it is just as easy for people that value Thanksgiving time with their families at home to travel on Thanksgiving as it is for them to travel on Friday? You must not read very well because I actually said the quite the opposite. If you value your time at home with family on Thanksgiving, then don't go to the game. For those of us that are okay with spending time with our family inside a football stadium, we can attend the game. What do you not understand about that?

The fact that you wont admit the majority of the fan base has a big problem with this

1045 is talking about it now. In 2016 if we play on thanksgiving, there wont be 2 byes in that season. Which means we either play 11 straight weeks before a bye or we play on a short week.

No shite!

Single people or those with no kids or extended families probably don't give a shite when the game is played, but playing it on Thanksgiving Day is a arse kicker for family guys.

Don't understand why that is so hard for some to wrap their LSU football first and everything else second minds around.

I have no idea what the "majority" of the fan base thinks, and neither do you. You are going off of the opinions of a few people. I also don't care what the "majority" of the fan base thinks - All I ever said was that there will be plenty of Tiger Fans at Kyle Field, there are going to be some that don't like it and there are going to be some that say spending time with family at the ball game is just as good as spending time with the family at home. There really is no arguing that.

The majority of the fan base bitches about literally everything, so it's impossible to gauge through their complaints what is and isn't a real problem. Ever have a woman who bitches at literally everything, so you just tune her out at some point?

That's what LSU fans have become. They're being tuned out because they bitch too much.
