it isn't? a field goal would've tied it but he went for the win. which seems to directly answer you're question.

so that's 4. WTF was the point of your question?

Wow. I asked this question on another thread and tigerfan128's answers included 2 of your 3. Kind of surprising.

prolly because these are the most obvious examples to give. shouldn't be that surprising.

Reality started last week.

Let's see how we end against AL, OM and Ark. Unless prior performance drastically improves, we are looking at 2 losses, perhaps 3 to end the season.

ULM will be another McNeese underperformance. Just going through the motions.

I originally posed the question to Hitchcock and then to Tigerfan128. They are trolls, particularly, Tigerfan128, so I put them on the spot to give us examples of Lesticles's coaching prowess. Hitchcock demurred. In truth, if you and your staff make over $6M per year, what value do you add or how much football do you really know if you have to hire an outside consultant to help you? Of course, it DID get the job done very well.

BTW, going for it on 4th down is a tactical decision, not a strategic one. I seriously doubt that the game plan drawn up on Wednesday was to game-ending 18 play (IIRC) drive with 5 4th down conversions.

I love LSU and my opinion is that Miles is a slow acting poison for the program. But, if you like him, then that's your opinion and I don't really have a problem with that. I just get irritated every time a negative miles comment is viewed as a negative LSU comment, b/c they really are 2 different things

who gives a frick? you asked for an in game decision that made the difference in the outcome.

you could have saved us all a lot of time if you'd just said up front that nothing would count for whateverthafrick reason you decide to come up with.

Fact: Saban has failed to outcoach Miles in any of their head-to-head games.

And you guarantee that Miles' departure is best for LSU? If course you don't.
You want him gone because it is currently the fashion with the football nonintelligensia. You want him gone not because you have a single clue as to how much it will or will not help LSU, but because it is suddenly cool in some circles to spend a lot of time and energy bashing him.

Gosh GreyTiger, this maybe a real surprize to you but some of us thought from the beginning this was a really bad choice for LSU. But out of the interest of LSU remained quiet for several seasons. It was actually fashionable to refrain from saying anything.

bullshite. If you were against the hiring of Miles from the beginning, unlikely, you didn't say shite because he was incredibly successful. It's the same thing that's going on now over at Auburn. Is Gene Chizik a considerably better coach now than he was in the Big 12, or did he get lucky by signing Fairley and Newton?

It wasn't mainstream to bash Miles then because there was very little to criticize. It is mainstream to bash him now because we're disappointed with the way the previous 2 seasons ended.

Man you guys are something else, if those of us did not say anything from the get go we were afraid to, now if we say anything it is fashionable.

Of course you did. And I knew from the beginning that BP stock would take a hit this year. And I knew from the beginning that the Yugo would be a bust. And I knew from the beginning that the Saints would struggle this year. Like you I have perfect 20/20 hindsight. Don't we all?

True philantropists are't you? But now "out of the interest of LSU" you have joined a lynch party. Are you holding the ropes or the torches?

It was actually fashionable to refrain from saying anything.

So you admit that you are driven by fashion? At one time it was fashionable to admire Les Miles. Now it is fashionable to bash him, so you, being the slave to fashion that you are, have to join in? That leaves out the slim possibility of independent thought doesn't it?

That last statement pretty well sums us my opinion of the basher crowd. Perhaps I should have said herd, but that would be insulting to cows.

I'm not suggesting you were afraid to, I'm suggesting that you had no motivation to do so because of the way in which the team had performed.

I really admire those who have the courage of their convictions, don't you?

On the other side of the coin wouldn't you agree that if one keeps his opinion quiet out of fear, that person could be accused of cowardice?

Following that line of thought, then it is the Miles supporters who are exhibiting bravery now and the bashers merely following fashion.
