Eventually I think Jeremy Hill should have it...maybe not for his sophomore year but def the year after.

Will he be eligible for next years draft? I thought he was considered a true freshman this year despite being held back due to his run in with the law.

You just have to be 3 years out of high school.

your eligibility clock for the NFL draft counts from when you graduated high school. So after next year he'll be out three years and thus draft eligible.

Think: Larry Fitzgerald

I don't mean this in a bad way so I hope it doesn't come off as such. But it doesn't matter if you or any of us care about who wears #18. Every year people on this board make a big deal out of it, like what the fans think should have any impact on it. But the #18 jersey is a team thing that is decided on by the coaching staff. So as long as it's important to them, that's all that matters.

No I totally agree with you that it's a team thing. If it is important to the players then great. Just me as a fan I can't get interested.

The #7 jersey is not a tradition like #18. It was just Tyrann Mathieu taking PP7's number when he left. #18 is passed on to the player that shows the most leadership on and off the field, and ability to overcome adversity. Doesn't just have to do with how many accolades a player has. but to stick to the topic, If Bennie decides to leave, along with the others we are suspecting, I think it could be Craig Loston or Alfred Blue

Did Bennie Logan say that he was going to the draft and no one told me? Because as far as I know he'll be wearing the same jersey again next year.

And #7 is dead. Tyrann Mathieu killed it. I don't know why people don't realize that.

The only tradition with #7 was that Peterson passed it down to Mathieu IIRC. The rest are coincidences and you can say the same about a lot numbers. 18 is passed down by all the players that have worn it and Les.

I guess I never really saw 7 as a tradition anyway. Maybe had Mathieu stayed and given it to the next great DB, I'd say there would be, but I really don't see 7 as that big of a deal

I've always thought of #7 as the playmaker who made things happen on the field. But yes you have a point that it is a bit of a coincidences.

I respect the #18 tradition. But, a lot of posters get way to wrapped up in this shite imho.

Completely agree, but I actually understand discussion behind who will wear 18 because it isn't chosen by the player. The next player to wear 7 will be a freshman next year more than likely
