re: Who will be the starting QB vs. Oregon?

The biggest key to all of this will be if Kragthorpe installs his entire offense. If he does, then all of the quarterbacks are at square one.
Do you honestly believe this? Do you honestly believe that being in SEC competition in past years has no advantage over someone who hasn't? In your rosy Play Station world, does age and experience have no advantage?

Maybe Krag changes JJ's mechanics and he resembles a capable QB this year. Fingers crossed...

You honestly believe since a guy started in the SEC he is untouchable? A touchdown pass every THREE games makes JJ untouchable? It's impossible to discuss anything with you due to your undying bias towards JJ. FOUR touchdown passes in the regular season and no one should question him.
I am not one of the guys that thinks Mett will just walk in and be Joe Montana. All I'm saying is JJ should not be the starter just because he's older. FOUR touchdown passes...

I think JJ starts, but Mett gets his opportunity. I think they'll do the duall QB rotation.

JJ should start until Mett can win the job. That's how this works.
My guess is that this will happen before game one.

Wearing a John Elway mask is the only way JJ resembles a capable QB. People seem to have forgotten how God awful he was in 2010.

Nope. I believe that the experience and maturity will be an advantage. A clear advantage.

A meaningless stastic and you know it. LSU has won without a spate of TD passes. Tulane had more TD passes than LSU had. You would want trade seasons?

As opposed to you open minded and neutral attitude toward JJ? Ok

How many victories? That's the benchmark. I am happy if LSU wins. TD passes only count if they are the winning play. Clearly this year it wasn't.

What about if he can lead the team better? I'm not saying that JJ shouldn't have to win his position but to think that an unproven guy will just step up and darken the sky with touchdown passes in the SEC is past idiotic.

FOUR touchdown passes...
Quite an obsession you have there. How many TD passes would you trade for each victory?
Mett is supposed to be talented. We'll see how that works out. Thomas Dunston was supposed to be talented.

So if Lee doesn't bail him out, and LSU loses 4 games this year, you're happy?

Here's another useless stat for you, 7 games in a row without a touchdown pass from our starting QB. That's pretty shitty experience imo.

How many were wins?

Fwiw you are arguing with a brick wall. A very dense and bitter brick wall. Good luck

Have an adult read my statement you.
Aren't you too old to be playing "what if" games? That's so 4th grade.

Yeah having your assertions proven assinine hurts doesn't it?
Guarantee to me that some unproven kid will be better than someone who led LSU's winning season this year . Prove it. Guarantee it. Results count. Not daydreams.

I really didn't feel like jumping in to this one from the stands, but you seriously are not worth discussing anything with.
How about this? Guarantee to me that JJ will be better than someone who you have probably never seen play. Prove it. Guarantee it.

well, most here would argue that LSU won despite of JJ, not because he led them to wins. Any solid Qb play and we could have been in that NC game.

Gotta see what type of offense will be installed. If Krags goes straight up pro style JJ would be out. Then the question would be who wins out of Mett and Lee. If JL thought he didn't have a shot at winning the starting job, he'd been gone already.
the only way jj would have not started was for miles to have hired an oc he wouldn't have control over. no way in hell will anybody start other than jj. and another 85 yds passing game won't bring a change either. get over it.

If you were a senior QB, and you were not named the starter...Why would you stay? That would make ZERO sense. JJ starts against Oregon
Where would be go? He couldn't stay division I.

OK so much for consistancy.
I searched all the sports sites and I haven't been able to locate any Mett SEC game action.
I have watched JJ win SEC football games.
Now once you supply some visuals of Mett in action against SEC competition, we'll talk. Until then all this Mett is better talk is just the daydream of ignorant fans.
