Sixth in the country is great. But the polls are nothing more than a popularity contest. All you have to do to prove that is go back to Alabama being picked over Oklahoma State to go to the NC game back in 2011.

Well, when you "finished higher placed in the conference", you've actually shown you're the better team on the field. Not in the eyes of some yahoos scattered across the country.

But to each their own.

Not surprising. The hive mind just says "offense" when they can't think of anything else

I don’t mind masking and lunchbox. Earl seems ok but I don’t really let strangers bother me. I just reply how I’m replied too

Yes. Winning the SEC should be every fans hopes.

We all know Bama was better. It sucked for us and screwed us out of a national title.

I don’t think UF and A&M were better than us just like I don’t think UK and Ark were in 2007

Now that s called diminishing

Why does it bother you so badly when fans are happy with accomplishments? You seem terribly disturbed whenever anyone likes anything about the 2018 team

Still waiting on your link too

So are the CFP.

Have they? Outside of these inane arguments, no one cares nor will they remember who finished 2nd, 3rd or 4th in the division. shite, UCLA won their division several years ago with a 6-6 record. What exactly did they prove on the field? College sports have always been a popularity contest. Even if a tournament crowns the champion, an arbitrary selection committee/ranking system chooses the teams and where teams are seeded.

O

O for Saban

O for Jimbo

1 and 2 v Mullen.

Can we pump the brakes until we score a point v Bama?

You can try to find any link where I said 2018 wasn't good Roger.

Of course it is but not winning it doesn’t make it a bad year.

Yep

2018 was a good year, not great. But it was also very inexperienced on offense

That will not be the case in 2019

It gives us momentum for this year and that’s why I think all of our fans should be excited

Facts are belittling? Who knew

Do me a favor Roger and remember you said this the next time I post facts about o's time at LSU or where the team finished in the conference or national rankings concerning the offensive or defensive rankings.

Because, by God, you just said a few posts back that I've "spent months belittling 2018." And all I've posted have been facts.

Sounds a little hypocritical wouldn't you say?

Which is why bragging about finishing 6th in the AP poll is for the foolish. Those of us who understand what actually matters will point to LSU's #11 ranking in the poll that matters. Then, we will simply say, "That has to get better". Like we've been doing.

Meanwhile, people like Roger and Trout will continue to grind their teeth because not every LSU fan believes finishing 9-3, 3 losses from a meaningful finish in conference and 7 spots back of a meaningful place in the college football landscape is good enough.

The current recruiting class is looking great, but long ways to go. He can earn a ton of credit this year. Both on the field and in recruiting. Not sure why anyone gets defensive about the wait and see approach.

I disagree. If you’re going to compare all 130+ teams in the country, there’s no other way to do so
