the only guy comparable to Mauck as a leader that year was Jack Hunt

Spadoni, Whitworth, Williams, and Eric Edwards as well.

What position did Glen Dorsey play? So he wasn't as much of a leader as Matt Flynn because he was a DT? You suck at life.

And just curious if this could possibly be racist, when was the last time a non-white player wore it?

Yeah, looks that way. Freakin rantards. It was meant to be a legitimate discussion. That was wishful thinking

You are insinuating that you have to be a QB or offensive player to be the leader of the LSU team. If not, why did you mention T.O. not being a leader despite being the best player?

Wearing 18 doesn't mean you are the fricking leader of the team. I understand that was the original purpose, but people in this thread think you have to be a QB or wear 18 to be THE guy, which is as retarded as a retarded kid.

2 pages and this is pretty much the only non-rantarded response. Imagine that

You're the one with all the stupid arguments.

It's going to go to whatever white guy on the field works hard. Try to convince me otherwise and you're even dumber than I thought.

Because you said spears, clayton, etc were better leaders by their play on the field. By your definition, that makes T.O. a great team leader. Do you dispute that T.O. plays well on Sundays?

That's "supposed" to be what passing the # from player to player was to be about. Never said anybody was or is. I think Scott is the teams leader. Now please respond with something intelligent, for once

I think it's more the best white skill player than it is the hardest working or biggest heart white player.

What criteria makes best, I don't exactly know. Best white player might be T-Bob in 2010 - doubt he'll have 18 though.

Where did anybody say that. Just said it was an offensive thing.

No I don't dispute it, but he's a bad leader. Spears is a great player AND a great leader. They obviously aren't comparable. I included the guys I included for a reason.

OK, once again, you obviously don't know the difference between offense & defense. And leaders & players.

#18 is worn by the WHITE leader on OFFENCE....i think we may have a little drought the next couple of years but either Tyler Edwards or Chris Garrett will bring back the tradition in the future

I may be only 17
but I thought I'd been around enough to know that racism is supposed to be frowned upon and not defended.
How about we ask LSU alumni or someone actually qualified to answer the question.
Denying someone as a leader soley because of their race is just dumb and ignorant.

My point is that obviously there is confusion on the qualifications of wearing the jersey.
Hasn't anyone heard of researching it?
and why isn't it being done??

Im close with ppl on the team and know for a fact there is plenty of black/white diversity..if you cant see that your blind and ignorant..Matt started this back in the day and yes it is a fact that those guys were good friends and were the white leaders on the team..the black players on the team have to problem with this..they arent ignorant and understand this is not racist..there is plenty of leadership from both races
