Alan Risher.
I remember as a kid wondering after he played out his eligibility and left for the USFL how in the world LSU was going to replace him, lol.

Telling your age Johnny U, he was mine also.
Yep. A 9 year old kid in '58. Back then there were really no television games to speak of so most of what I saw were the replays on the "coaches show" the next morning. My older brothers and I would wait for it to come on and Dietzel would comment on the clips that they would show. I really wish they still did that.

Woodley and Ensminger here, too.

Miracle Mike Miley. That '73 team started out 9-0 but faltered down the stretch losing to Bama, Tulane (ugh) and then Penn St. in the Orange Bowl.

Do you remember that 1914 game we lost at home to the Haskell Indians? It.was.brutal. I'm pretty sure the Tigers were in purple jerseys that day.

Didn't get to watch him too often in the mid-50s - mostly remember him from radio broadcast, but M.C. Reynolds, the Mansfield Rifle, was my first favorite Tiger QB.

LOL...great guy but his passes looked like kick offs!
How good of a passer was he? When your running back, Billy Cannon, has to throw the winning TD in the Sugar Bowl it tells you a lot.

Probably Mike Miley. Hope I spelled it right. RIP young man.

My first LSU QB I truly remember was Herb Tyler.
