Ford & Ware were both 5-stars. Keiland Williams too.
Truth.

I thought Spencer Ware was a 4-star recruit out of Ohio?
5* that played qb. Funny how he had no problem transitioning to another position, yet we still bash miles about Shepard. Randle, Claiborne, beck with, magee all played qb. So did skyler green and early doucet.

And when was the last time LSU signed the #1 national recruit? J Russell ??
Since 2002, this will be the first. J Russel was a 4* and not Even the highest rated at his position let alone country.
I say 2002 because that's as far back as the internet services go. No telling how high players were rated 20-30 years ago. I'm sure you can find out though by Google.

The better question would have been "when is the last time LSU didn't have a 5-star RB on the team?"

Yes he did
Faulk
H.williams
K.williams
Fournette
Would have been 5* in any era of recruiting
Toomer
Davis
Collins
Parquet
Vincent
Carey
Toefield
Broussard
Ford
Ware
Hilliard
Hill
All could have been by maybe one or two sites, but not consensus. But for sure 4 star type recruits.

Hill was a 4*
Keiland Williams was a 5* prep school player
Spencer Ware was the last 5* straight out of high school
Rueben was #1 for a time but I want to say Ronald Powell took his spot after a big Army game.

J. Russel was a 4* recruit.
I believe our last #1 overall was Josh Booty, although we didn't actually get him until years later and after an attempt at professional baseball.
