One of the most retarded arguments ever made, especially considering Rohan and Herb Tyler are loved by Tiger Nation for what they did on the field.

I was in Tiger Stadium and I know what I heard being said about Russell and Jefferson.

Sounds like you're the retard.

how would u know. u havent seen him play yet. im anxious to se how he does at the spring game. then you can make an argument of whether he is ready or not

Apparently not, because the fact that 2 African American QB's are loved by Tiger Nation disproves your entire argument that Tiger Nation wants a WHITE QB.

Yes you can, there is a reason he was a redshirt player and it was not because the coaches felt he gave the team the best chance to win. He is not ready which is why he will enter the upcoming season at the #3 position.
I am sure we love to see highlight tapes of players and then proclaim them the second coming but the fact is we do not see these kids every single day in practice. We do not know if they understand that playbook, how to read a defense, and other intangibles that a QB needs. The coaches do that and while I know many believe they could do a better job than Miles, Crowton, among others well that is their right to an opinion. I just however do not agree with it and believe they are full of shite.

JJ was the starter this year because Miles, in all of his wisdom, believed that JJ was going to be the next Donovan Mcnabb. He is defenitely no Donovan, but I do think the kid has talent. I think that he and Garrett should go into the spring and compete and who ever comes out on top is the starter. I think Garrett would do much better that some posters think, from everything I have read this kids knowledge of the game is very impressive.

I strongly believe that the QB starter this fall should be undetermined at this point.

Let's start out with what we know - regardless of the "Wild Tiger", or other variations to get Russell Shepard the ball, the starting QB for 2010 will NOT be:

-Russell Shepard

-T.C. McCartney

-Zach Lee (although, much like every other freshman QB LSU brings in, he will be the most popular QB on the team....until he plays)

-Barrett Bailey

So, that leaves us with Jordan Jefferson, Jarrett Lee or Chris Garrett. Jefferson has the most experience, and has been highly effective at times. If coaching gets him to a better place, with regards to getting rid of the ball, he can lead LSU to a SEC championship, perhaps more.

I'm still confident that Jarrett Lee can be an effective backup, and Chris Garrett can be the guy in 2012, with Zach Lee as his backup.

1. whomever performs the best in spring practice
2. whomever stays healthy
3. whomever continues to perform the best in fall practice
4. whomever stays healthy
5. whomever the coaches (who work w/ the QBs every day) decide is best for the team

or

6. take a poll among the brilliant fanbase and ask them to make the selection

the starter should be whoever the backup is.

if the backup starts then the previous starter should be the starter

i like jj to start. but, i would hope to see a lot of chris garrett in mop up duty. i have never seen a q.b. throw the ball so beautifully as Garrett.

In the last few years at LSU we have had very very few games where there was "mop up duty".

I think that the competition should be wide open and whoever wins the job should play.

For some reason I still like Lee more than Jefferson, but neither has been outstanding on the field.

I don't think we really know until we see what our offensive philosophy will be and how players are used.

i agree with this, i personally believe when the offense on a high profile team finishes ranked 112 out of 120, every position on offense should be open competition.
