And that's the way journalists are taught. That's the way newspaper editors want their reporters to write.
I've got lots of friends in the industry. They are told from the beginning to find the negative angles.
Friend of mine used to work for the Shreveport Times covering the police beat. He was always pushed to find angles that portrayed the COPS in a poor light.
It sells papers. That's all that's important.

not disagreeing with much Lacour other than the dude usually has his facts straight, LSU fans just don't want to admit it
1) no he doesn't. he writes hearsay. i heard, therefore it's true. i read a message board, therefore it's fact. he's so lazy he wont pick up the phone and find out the fact/truth.
2)N.C. was the first choice. this, i know to be true. lsu did not know if they could afford the buy out. once they could, she was the only one who was offered the job.
3) Womens bball isn't the issue. this is one small example of how poor his "journalism" has been for years. he believes his "opinion" is the fact. it's just the first time he's responded in a public forum to defend his ineptness. which, tells you everything you need to know about the lack of quality reporting/journalism coming from him. people just need to

The guy sucks, but you people keep feeding his ego.
He would hate it even more if nobody gave a shite about him.
But, y'all do, so...

what happened to "the facts and nothing but the facts"?? why bother going to school at all for Journalism, when you could get some bi-polar 40 year old divorcee to write that kind of sensational diatribe.

Well, that's the trick. They are using the facts, just presenting those facts in a negative way.

wrong. he gives an "opinion" in a negative way. He rarely, if any, gives a source or interviews an expert for their opinion to back up his negative slant.
my issue isn't that he is negative, it's the lack of professionalism (thus his tweet) and laziness that is displayed by him. If he was writing negative articles and had a little research/ people interviewed, with credentials, to support his point of view; then i could respect the guy more.
as someone who studied journalism and worked in the media for a period of time, he's embarrassing to his profession. with that said, he's only one of many in the media today. very little "journalism" left.

That piece of shite has a lot of nerve calling out Tigerdroppings. This site generates almost all of his readers by people who post his shitty articles. So what if someone said you are wrong, fricking deal with it. Maybe you can write another article that will get thousands and thousands of hits because people post it in Tigerdroppings.

It looks like Gilbeau did report the facts. Several of you just don't like him. But the 3 things that you are in a roar over look to have been reported factually--including the part that you can't always believe what LSU tells you. That is not a negative on LSU...they just report in a way to best represent the University. And they don't want to hurt anyone else's reputation that might be impacted by being offered the job or not being offered the job. It is the right way to handle the matter. So go back and find something else to hate on.

If we can't always believe what LSU says, can we always believe what GG writes? It sounds like he is the pot calling the kettle black.

Hey,, after the days of Doug Burns at the Alexandria Town Talk years ago, GG actually looks halfway decent. No, he doesn't drink the koolaide. Yes, there are times that things might be a little more negative than I would like, but overall he is not that bad of a writer compared to some. The days of Bill Carter and Bill McIntyre ended with their burials, and they will never be back. However, even those guys called BS on a number of occasions when it came to the LSU program. Carter would have shite all over the place if he had still been alive when Curley had the football program.
