Key can make it there with a great junior year.

Mingo is no where near top 5.come on.

Chuck wiley also has an argument

Solid player but not top 5 worthy.

There are about 7 lsu de that have claim to top 5 de.

Montgomery
Spears
Oliver
Spears
Northern (although he did play some lb)
Green
Hill

And the production drops off a good bit after those. If we are counting Gabe as strictly DE then he has the best production of those groups.

Brockers actually played defensive tackle at LSU.

OLB in a 3-4 defense. For the purposes of this discussion that equals a DE.

Brooks and Brockers are two different people.

No it doesnt. The guy isnt in a technique nor does he have his hand in the dirt. 3-4 jack lb does not equal de.

So now hand a DE must have his hand in the dirt? My HS coach would really be surprised to learn he's been teaching it wrong all those years.

HITF CAN YOU NOT HAVE Leonard Marshall in there. You watch him play at lsu and NFL??? He was awesome.

Karl Wilson? Karl dunbar? Roland Barbay?

Ill take

Leonard Marshall
Marcus Spears
Marquise Hill
Gabe Northern
and while Michael Brooks was a 3-4 OLB i guarantee he could have been a monster DE in a 4-3 watch films especially Texas A&M game dude dominated offensive tackles overpowered them

You guys are too young. Jesus, you've missed a lot. Ernest Maggiore--'63 thru '65, back when you didn't show up in the SEC without an outstanding defense.
