We pile on Matt a good bit here, mostly because he comes across as arrogant and condescending at times - he just does.

He may well be a great guy IRL, but the perception among many is real and IMHO it's earned.

But he is smart, he does work hard (as he'll tell you), he has good sources and connections (which he'll also tell you - you don't even have to ask), and he can think on his feet and has good insight, particularly as regards football and the football program, not as much baseball and even less hoops.

Not sure he still does that post game football show/podcast where he and his co-host curse as much as they possibly can as if they are in a contest to see who can curse most - but I always thought that was really strange and beneath him. But he would push back hard on anyone who called him on that so it was important to him I guess to be free to curse at will.
