yeah, they need to remember that until he faces some real competition, he is still a "good prospect."

I think he will be very good and get appreciable playing time at LSU but not for a while. We may see him run a couple of plays this year, tops.

That's a frightening idea considering he only has one pass attempt in his career.

It's very suspect that Rivers didn't get any snaps against teams like Towson .

It's because the first team wasn't exactly burning up the field and getting Mett experience was more important than Rivers.

True, but in the fourth quarter of that game would it have hurt to give your inexperienced backup a few snaps? Just to get his feet wet.

Yeah, well we saw this in past years as well with the backup.

LSU had less than 400 yds total vs Towson. I understand why he was played as much as he was early in the year.

None of us have seen enough of him to know. To think a freshman should or could play ahead of him is stupid on a major scale.

true, but Rivers was seen as somewhat of a project coming in. Rettig and Jennings were national recruits, so it's not out of the question that one of them could pass Rivers by the time the season starts, especially considering that all the QB's have the same amount of time with the playbook.

If Mett gets dinged up and needs a series or two off, you'll probably see Rivers early in the season. If he were to go down for the season, or for multiple games, IMO the staff would look at it differently.

I agree.

In ten years LSU hasn't had a #2 QB given such limited action as Rivers had last year.

You can't explain that away by saying Zach needed the work.

Rivers will play if Mett gets hurt. Jennings prob will play some, but i doubt miles will give it to a true frosh. From all accounts Jennings still has accuracy issues. But he can move.

JJ subbed in for Lee as a true freshman.

We had no one else.

Rivers was 4 for 11. Sounds like the rotation is Mett, Rettig, Jennings then Rivers.

You gathered this from made up stats from the first scrimmage of the year?

shite sign him up, thus guy should be our OC.

Why and where this obsession comes from?

Where does your obsession against athletic dual threat QBs come from Mr. Former Player? Maybe their obsession comes from following college football and the success of those athletic dual threat QBs who have won as many or more NCAA Chaimpionships and Heisman trophies as the nonathletic single threat QBs you love so much over the last 15 years.

Rivers will be number two and given a shot. Whether he has a J Lee type hook (2011) I don't know.

He'll be given a shot though. I wouldn't read anything into his lack of PT last year. The passing game never clicked under Mett until late in the year and then LSU wasn't exactly blowing people out.

Bolden undergoing surgery

Really was excited when he first came, would like to know what the deal is if he will never play a down for the Tigers or is leaving, 6'4 and 200 pounds, and is mobile, as well as has starting experience, thought he would be a great #2?

I dont think Bolden would be the #2 guy here. It would be interesting to see what OC Cam could get out of him in a short period of time.

As of right now he's just being used as a camp arm this spring.

I dont see how it would have hurt for SR to come in for the last 6 or so minutes of the game.
