This place has been singing SW’s praises for years. He’s the best in the business at hiring coaches.
now all of a sudden everyone hates him

I'm not a big Landry fan, but he's already said that he isn't hiring the next head coach..
I agree with him on a lot of things but I also don’t understand some of the things he does. The way he handled this situation was terrible but his opinions are fair. If you want to fire Woodward who is very connected that’s fine but I don’t see the benefit of humiliating him. Unless there’s a done deal with a new coach and AD it seemed like he crippled the coaching search. He seems like an attention whore that has mediocre communication skills for someone in his position.

I'll raise my hand. I would've had absolutely no problem with Woodward hiring the next football coach.
He's hired successful football coaches at previous stops and has 4 national championships with coaches he hired here. He loved LSU and was a great fundraiser. Even his misses in football weren't true disasters as Kelly finished with a 34-14 record here after having to clean up after O, and Jimbo went 9-1 the year after Woodward left A&M.
The contracts he wrote were bold, but were the market price in order to hire coaches with the experience or pedigree that LSU traditionally hasn't been able to lure to Baton Rouge. I mean, it was the first time that a Notre Dame head coach had willingly left to take another job in there entire history as far as I'm aware, and Woodward was able to get that deal done, regardless of the end result. It made their entire elitest fanbase lose their minds and had them reconsider their place in the college football pecking order.
No AD is going to nail every hire, but Woodward has made successful hires at every stop and was the first competent AD we've had in years, so I'd give him as much a chance as any for the next one.

What about the other HC's he hired dumbass
Mulkey was already a HoF coach and wanted to come home, wasn’t there trouble at Baylor and she wanted out?
That’s like hiring a 60 year old Saban if he had a falling out at bama wanted to come back. Absolute no brainer hire.
I’ll give him a ton of credit for JJ, but his firing of the general and his replacement hire has killed the entire bball program. So they cancel each other out.
And now you paying a dump truck of money to an awful fit coach that failed.
Yea, he shouldnt get the choice of next hire.
