I hate to say it but AL. I think LSU is #2 in the nation. I think LSU will have trouble with AL rushing 5-7 people and our WRs will have trouble getting open.

Note to Miles please use Beckham not Shep. Beckham can get open.

As of now you have to go with LSU because of the caliber of teams they have played.

Position by Position Bama might have a slight edge!!!

Translation: They know way more than me, & I have no real response to you in light of that fact, GFunk.

It's real easy to put up points-and keep an offense off the field-when you're already down your best Defensive End, and then you lose your other starting DE on the 3rd play.

It's also apparent that Tyler Wilson isn't as advertised, and you do realize that Knile Davis is injured, right?

Oh, and anyone who thinks that wideout has recovered from last year after watching tape should contact me for great deals on Oceanfront Real Estate here in Denham Springs.

Their offense was smoke & mirrors. Their Defense *was* good before their best players-and best leader-went down with injuries.

Ultimately, you know not of what you speak. Not that that fact has ever prevented anyone from speaking.

Dude, chill the f out. Like he said, it’s his opinion. Not only do scouts make mistakes just like everyone else, but they also throw-out as much misinformation as any industry on the planet. If we’re hanging our hats on what scouts say, Mel Kiper said 9 of the top 100 players on his board were from Alabama’s defense alone.

Alabama just held a Bobby Petrino-led offense to 226 total yards while LSU’s defense allowed Geno Smith to pass for more than that entire total (463) yet you think it’s treason to suggest Alabama might have a better secondary. Some of yal are such obnoxious homers it’s hard to even be on this board.

No question it is lsu as of right now. Bama has beaten only one ranked team at home. Lsu has 3 on the road and better offenses.

Well if you are going to base it off of who they've played, then there is no point in asking the question. LSU's defense is good, but Bama appears to be more complete. Bama has been more consistent through the first 3 games. LSU relied on special teams play against WVU.

Both have their strengths and weaknesses. Both are susceptible in giving up points and yards any day. I think we have the overall stronger secondary. I would give LSU a "slight" edge to our defensive line just due to the depth and amount of fresh players (that just happen to be really good) we can rotate in. I think their linebackers are heads and shoulders better than ours as a unit. I also would give them the edge in coaching, but we aren't far off. It's a push. Coin flip. Whatever you wanna call it. Both are very good and talented.

It would be interesting to see how both defenses perform against the same opponents. How would Alabama's D do against Oregon or West Virginia? Would they implode and give up the big plays as Saban did against GA in 2004, or would they shut them down?

LSU has the better defense. We actually shut down very explosive offenses scoreboard wise and have proved we can shut down the run. Crocodile Puntee will be putting other offenses in a bind all year long.

I don't give a shite what scouts and analyst say about NFL players, because the same or more has been said about bamas defense. They completely destroyed petrinos offense. There are no weak spots or holes. You have your opinion and I have mine and I think Alabama has the better overall d for now. I do think we have a better overall offense

I will give you this, because of their LB's I do think their defense is better suited to stop our offense than our defense is suited to stop theirs.
