A closer isn't really a big problem in college baseball, lots of teams have that problem, its usually a pretty easy fix

hope we fix it then since he's blown in his last 4 outings.

He's blown the last 4 save opportunities he's had?

I haven't been able to watch every game.

Either he will, or he won't be used.

but it isn't a problem you want to have going into regionals. And if you have the problem then you need someone else WARMING UP IN THE frickING BULLPEN! And give Goody a short leash!

well I'd like to hope he won't be entrusted with a meaningful situation for a while... maybe he's a headcase.

Did you understand how little the game today meant? I assure you someone would've been ready had that been a regional game.

We scored ZERO runs the last 8 innings. This didn't help. I'm troubled by our waiting till the situation is critical to even start warming someone up, like we did at Scar with Little Nola. It's like we think a three run lead is safe.

Closers are all about confidence. Goody has none right now. Hopefully CPM will get him some middle inning stints this weekend and help him get his groove back. He's been very off

...Goody rocked bad last several outings ... last half dozen appearances R-O-C-K-Y ... gave up 7 runs last three times out ...
I would say that concern about him losing his mojo are , well, legit ...

...well, maybe its not such a "big problem" if you can score more than 3 or 4 runs game .... we can't ... Its "fluke city" when we do . Sorry. We gots nuthin' but 1 run games this year ... Its big problem - big problem - if we don't have closer ...

Message Posted by Macintosh504 It's easy for batters to study him and know he pitches fastballs in the strikezone 92% of the time.

And when the fastballs are 88 mph instead of 93 mph like today then that is a problem.

Goody made the pitch he needed...Moore choked away a double play to end the game...or at least an out so chicken would have never been able to get that RBI off of that weak fly

If he struggles again in his next game. He will need to be benched for sure. Hoping he can regain his mojo.

I don't understand why McCune has not been given more opportunities he is very good when he plays his 1 inning, he was a great starter last season, what is up with that we need him!!!!

Aw, c'mon Elleshoe...it's just pitching and hitting. How important are they in baseball?

Just based on what I'm reading in this thread, he's blown two (Vandy and MSU), almost blew another (USC), and gave up 4 runs in the other (Nicholls), apparently.
