Abyone who has ever competed in sports and has an ounce of integrity doesn't want to win the way the scrams won. I never did. You work your butt off, lifting weights, running, playing and you want to prove you are better. Whitworth saying the Saints were making excuses proves he doesn't have any more integrity than those piece's of crap refs did who egregiously ignored the PI and helmet to helmet hit. Maybe after so many years he finds going to the SB means more than being able to actually say they are better than the Saints. I don't have any respect for players who have no issue with winning a game in that manner. IDC where he played college football. My loyalty is to LSU, not to some player who has no integrity.

But how Payton gets a pass for the last drive is beyond me. Saints have the ball with 1:56 left in game and Rams have 2 timeouts. Payton allows the Rams to take possession with 1:42 AND still one time out left. That is mind-numbing to me. Les Miles clock management at best.

Sad his family was threatened but he brought it on them by not keeping his trap shut when he knowingly has his team gifted a stolen super Bowl appearance from a team in his home state.

Full disclosure, I am a huge Saints fan. I am a huge LSU fan. Though I am from West Monroe, I didn’t go to school with Whitworth and have probably shaken his hand once and talked to him for a total of 5 seconds ever. Don’t know him at all. The Saints got screwed. And not all Saints fans are represented by some of the trash that have posted in this thread, nor should they be represented by the trash in the Saints Talk thread I’m about to link. But here it is:

Saints fans are so dumb, it's their own fault they lost that game for calling dumbass plays in the first quarter and the call on first down at the end. They should be asking Payton why he has turned into such an idiot as a game day play calling coach as much as they are engaging fake boycotts
