Actually it does if you look at it without LSU glasses. If Conference games don't matter, then what is the purpose of being in one. Ole Miss and Vandy are part of the SEC. Utah State is not. ESPN probably wanted the LSU game at 11 am, no major challenges ratings wise. They market LSU's big time offense. Ole Miss-Vandy on SEC Network at Night goes against UGA-TENN, those 2 draw more viewers than Ole Miss-Vandy and of course ABC has a prime time match up as well. When everyone is playing non-conference cupcakes, LSU has gotten the night time slots.

It really is and it’s embarrassing. There is a reason every other fan base laughs at LSUs fans and it’s justified.

GREAT POST... Ohio St. plays at 11:00 all the time...............

I figured the reason was the sec network would want to show a conference game in prime time. I really don't understand the crying it rarely ever happens.

Not really. LSU is just like every other fan base, you just happen to focus on LSU. Go to other team boards and you will find the same thing week to week.

Exactly, Ole Miss and Vandy are part of the SEC. The SEC Network saturday night guys, Darwi, Chizik and Doering are paid to discuss SEC football. The SEC Network was created to market the entire SEC, go to the SEC website, you see all sports being talked about. Vandy-Ole Miss and UGA-TENN are Conference games. They get the better slots. Auburn-Florida gets the 2:30 CBS slot. Mizzou-Troy gets the SEC Network game in the same slot as Auburn-Florida. Personally, I am glad LSU gets the 11:00 am vs. the 2:20 PM SEC Network game. I can watch LSU, get home and catch what should be a very good Auburn-Florida game.
It is not a conspiracy

bama does play most of their non conference games at 11 am...they can't bitch about it?
Feel free to bitch about it. LSU fans don't care if Alabama (or any other school for that matter) play their OOC games at night.

we aren't the only team that tells the sec our preferences. I doubt they make everyone hapy. It's just we cry way too much as a fanbase.
LSU night games aren't simply a "preference". It's a well settled and well known tradition for the school and fans. If the league doesn't want to honor it, that's fine. But it should be across the board. Yet, the ONLY reason the cross division scheduling is set up that way it is is because of the Alabama v. Tenn. "tradition" that apparently is so sacrosanct that there hasn't been even the slightest thought to change it in the nearly 30 years since the league split into divisions. Because the league now has 14 teams that means LSU will only play at (ex) UGA once every ~20 years and vice versa. That is significantly more altering than allowing LSU the courtesy to keep one of, if not maybe its MOST important tradition in tact for at least the non-conf. games.
The difference between LSU and other schools is that LSU doesn't just look at playing nights games as a "preference".

it's happened once in how many years?
I swear our fans are either the biggest wusses or just paranoid as frick. The worst game is LSU vs Utah St....why would the sec network not play 2 conference teams in their prime time game?

Agreed.
These same people crying are also the ones that leave at half time and then say "but they're muh tickets!"

I agree about the new 6-1-1 format with 14 teams. LSU will not go to Knoxville again to sometime around 2030. That is crazy. Need to go to 9 conference games, do a 6-1-2 format and rotate the 2 every year so LSU would play Florida and say Vandy/UGA year 1, UK-SC year 2 and MIZZOU-TENN year 3 then in year 4 Vandy/UGA again (play on the road who you played home in year 1 and home who you played on the road in year 1) and rotate.
But killing long standing rivalries because of expansion is a problem, I know TENN is a dumpster fire, but when the Big 12 expanded and the OU-Nebraska game was done away with, that put the Big 12 on a bad footing from jump as Nebraska was never happy with that with Texas basically dictating the scheduling structure when that league was formed back in the 90's (among other things).

So you are whining about whiners?

EXACTLY! You don't find it odd that "it's happens once in how many years" IMMEDIATELY after Alabama complains? If that letter wasn't penned, do you think LSU would be playing USU at 11:00 am? Because as you just pointed out, it hasn't happened in many years. It's not simply a coincidence LSU hasn't played any day games vs. non-conf. opponents. It was done (though perhaps not explicitly stated) to accommodate LSU's night game tradition. The network analyst/broadcasters, etc. talk ad nausem about "LSU night games". So why, if given the choice between showing a LSU home game at night (which they hype as some otherworldly experience) and a day game which eliminates that much ballyhooed experience, would they opt for the latter? It's not like the SEC hasn't broadcast multiple non-conf night games before
So as you pointed you out, it IS an anomaly LSU is playing one of these games in the morning. But the timing for that anomaly to occur certainly seems suspicious that it happens immediately after one team gripes about it. Again, NO ONE around here gives a shite if Alabama plays the likes of USM at the same time LSU is playing an OOC opponent at night.

It's frustrating to finally get a great offense then the defense decide it's going to shite the bed. The one year where he had a great offense under Mettenberger our defense sucked that year too. Defense is usually the most consistent thing at LSU for the past 15 years.

Exactly
I’ve been preaching this for a while now. We aren’t any worse than others, just venture out and see.
