I still try to remain objective in predictions. I have seen BAMA play a few times recently, and watched one of the best defensive performances I have ever witnessed against SC. All the while their offense is spuuutttering. Sure, Ingram is legit, but he is a one man show. Richardson is good, but not a force yet like Tebow, or Ingram.

Meanwhile, our D has only gotten better, as well as our offense. Are we playing MNC football? No. Are we playing our best football ? No.

I say UF is clearly better than BAMA as a whole, and perhaps on both sides of the ball, and we hung in there. We got beat, but it wasn't our best showing.

BAMA on the other hand, has not played a team as good as us. Furthermore, we know firsthand how hard it is playing with a bulls eye on our back. (Signed, 2007 BCS champions) I think we will be playing loose. After all, we are the red headed step child in our conference, and practically in our division. To say nothing of the national scene. (Boise st., Oregon, Texas, Iowa) kinda crowded still.

So, I think our tigers rise to the occasion, and win by 7-10, in not a last minute spectacle.

Rant on.

Did you miss the Alabama-Ole Miss game? Because that was a better defensive effort by Alabama than the USC game.

We are very CAPABLE of winning out. We bring our "A" game and beat Bama by at least one TD. If the offense is hamstrung again with bad play calling then we lose.

Our defense will have to win this by pitching a shutout. Because Bama's defense is as good or better than Florida's. And we managed all of 3 points at home against Florida.

I'm with you on this. We'll be loose and Bama is starting to play more tightly. We'll beat them on Saturday.

bigpapa, I think you are right. It was Ole miss. where they had multiple picks, and turnovers?
Reviewed their schedule, it was Ole Miss, then SC, then UT

They put on a clinic against in that game.

I really think the key is to just get some pressure on Mcelroy. If we can make him rush, and not give him time to "manage" the game, we can stop the run enough to hold them to virtually nothing. But, how many points can we score? I really feel we will win the game. Just no stupid mistakes.

Could LSU surge perhaps by a direct relation with the fact they played 2 of worst defenses in country?

Could Bama's sputtering be the fact they played 2 Top 15 defenses?

Does it matter that Tebow was coming off a concussion and Meyer admits to not opening the playbook and playing it close to vest?

If you look only at last 5 games they are even with the season average btw

Position by position we match up with everyone Alabama has on the field.... except for our O-line vs. their D-line. Our secondary is going to have to 1) not give up the big play and 2) force a turnover or two.... This will be a helluva game.

Opinionoverfacts, great points. You bring up great facts, in relation to my opinion.

But, does our Aubbie win look much better after their convincing win over Ole Miss??

Particularly in context of our defensive showing?

Well I am not saying your opinion is wrong but I have seen many statements around same thing.

No one has yet to answer me if there is a direct relation to LSU offense playing well has to do with the defense's they have played and same with Bama.

I did facts over 5 games earlier and will post them. Let me grab them

Last 5 Games
LSU Scoring 25.2 PPG
LSU Defense Allowing 12.4

LSU Offense Avg: 318.80 Yards Per Game
LSU Defense Allowing: 276.80

LSU passing 225.8 Per Game last 5
LSU allowing 180.4 Passing Yards per game last 5

LSU rushing 128.2 Last 5
LSU allowing 105.4 last 5

Thats pretty much in line with the season average its not a large difference in anything.

I like our chances, but I'm not quite up to predicting victory. Their D is hellacious.

I certainly wouldn't have my optimism over the last 5 games. More like the last 2.

People act as though it was easy to hang 42 on Tulane and pitch a shutout.

But, do y'all remember 2007 against Tulane? It was a game until the second half if I recall correctly, and we know how that season finished up.

Also, more than any other LSU team in recent memory, it seems like our guys on both sides of the ball needed reps and confidence. They got both.

Sheppard, Lee, Jefferson, Scott, Ridley, and Lafell had good showings, and will hopefully springboard from this.

BTW, where do you give BAMA the edge on a head to head matchups? Cody?

Its not 2007 and they had Matt Forte, this years Tulane doesn't have an impact player this year.

Its rather easy it seems, 3 other teams have done it this year. BYU beat them 54-3, even Southern Miss hung 40 on them this year. BYU also held them to less yardage than LSU did.

Heard that more than once this season

well put a few notes:

bama barely got by tenn
tenn was beated badly by auburn
tide had hard time scoring td on ole miss- auburn scored at will
bama game was close with ark in 3rd quarter

we are even with them and only home field is their advantage--if we do not give an easy turnover early we will be in this to the end

Well, I think Ole Miss had more than 19 yards of total offense in the first half against Auburn.
