In my opinion, the effect of SOS being greater (meaning UGA beating GaTech, UF beating FSU, BAMA beating Clemson, etc.), thus LSU getting into a greater bowl > than the effect of UGA, UF, and Bama losing and us POSSIBLY getting one of their recruits.
You're probably right. Conference strength has certainly paid dividends for us recently.

Don't see it being that big of a deal really.
Its not. I've never rooted anyone to victory or defeat. I seem to be a non-factor in most outcomes.

You gotta pull for the SEC in OOC and bowl games.
It's harder to do this for some teams more than others, but definitely, in my book, it's always been
1. LSU
2. SEC
Like the 07 title game, were you rooting for Florida or tOSU? I was rooting for Florida, anytime an SEC team wins an OOC game/bowl game, it's good for the entire conference, including LSU. :D

could you imagine if one SEC school dominated recruiting for like 15 years, kinda like USC, OSU/Mich, WVU, etc.
SEC spreads the wealth to like at least 6 different schools and it still dominates.

And this is just one of the reasons why to ALWAYS pull for the SEC in OOC games.

Off subject just a bit, but for the 06 Rose Bowl I transformed into a big Longhorn fan. I was hookin everybody. And then it all set in the next morning that I cheered for UT. Damn you USC, the things you drive me to do.

There is none. You never know what situation may develop where one team's victory may help LSU.
I generally would like to see USC, Nebraska, and Auburn (SEC games) lose.

I have a special place in my heart for watching Alabama lose. And it's been there as long as I have been a Tiger, so it's not a backlash to Saban coaching there.
I will root for Alabama to lose every game, save bowl games.
I have the same feelings for Texas, except I freely root for them to lose every single game. It's not because I hate them more - I certainly don't. It's because I feel a moral obligation to root for all SEC teams in Bowls. The one and only exception I have ever made to that rule is in the Rose Bowl in 2005. I wanted Texas to win so that USC could not claim a third championship in a row.

Bama, without a doubt.

The Gumps, even if they were playing the Al- Qaeda All Stars.

I PULL FOR THE SEC IN OOC GAMES, ESPECIALLY THE BOWL GAMES.
ANY FAN OF AN SEC TEAM WHO DOESN'T PULL FOR THE SEC, THAT'S AN AUTOMATIC FLAG....EITHER THEY ARE NOT FROM THE SOUTH OR THEY ARE JUST MENTALLY DISTURBED.

This is a tough one. I think this may be a game-time decision on who to pull for.

I AGREE WITH YOU! BUT WHY ARE WE YELLING?

wow some people want bama to lose just cause of saban no wonder why the gumps say we are obsessed with him. btw i want all the sec west teams to lose cause they are in our division not cause who coaches there. but in bowl games go SEC.

I'll help. Here is a very possible scenerio. The season is over. LSU finishes with ?-? record. Maybe they are hoping for a NC bid, maybe just a BCS bid, doesn't matter for this example. After the voting is done and the BCS computers are finished computing, LSU gets left out (of whichever game). Had Alabama (who is obviously onour schedule) beaten Clemson, LSU would have gotten in.
Now maybe that ONE game wouldn't make a difference, but maybe it would. In 03 LSU needed Hawaii to beat somebody in the last game of their season for LSU to get in. So to be safe, Roll Tide......
