Who's going to put the team on his back? I think a player needs to take that role on, for us to go deep.
Carmouche and JOB are injured, so not expecting either of them to be able to do it.
Hickey?
Curious to know what you think.

Even with JOB's injury he ended with 17 pts and 12 boards against Ole Miss. I think we need him to continue to have those numbers but need another forward to pick it up. I would really like to see more Hammink at the 4. I think he did well there. I am not sure about Coleman. He has struggled most SEC games and I think Hammink can use his length to get some points in the paint and rebound.

Carmouche no doubt. His last go round, so he'll be bustin his arse.

He was my first choice, but I don't know how sore he'll be. At least he has 4 days to recover.

LSU needs a hot shooter. It has been Carmouche. If he isn't 100%, I look to Stringer. But the guy is so streaky.

Carmouche has the be the guy. If not, I would look to the JOB or Hickey, who were 'the guy' before Carmouche has his late season performance.

Carmouche or Stringer, because one of them will have to be draining 3s.

I guess the real thing is what you mean by step up...

I mean Carmouche has over 20 points in 5 of his lat 7 games. So is it really stepping up if he does it again? I say no.

I think Stringer can continue to play well and make open looks in transition.

I also think JOB can continue to be a double double machine.

Does that mean they are stepping up? I say no.

I think the players who can step up given the opportunity would be Tuba, but hitting the easy shots he gets or Hammink if he is able to get on the floor and log some decent minutes, pull down some rebounds, and score a couple easy buckets.

I think Hickey has been taken out of games recently so I could see him having a couple good games being considered stepping up. LSU needs at least 3 big scorers and our forwards to contain rebounding.

The SEC tourney is usually a lot more physical than the regular season and this is the main reason I think we will struggle to get out the first round. LSU is physical when it come to diving on the ground for loose balls but when you start two guards that are both under 5'11" you aren't going to be too physical. JHHO

Right.
I mean someone who'll lead by performance example. Notching up their own game significantly over what they've been doing lately, or performing at a consistently high level. Whether that's by scoring, assisting, stealing, rebounding, or all 4! Giving teammates opportunities to perform too. Inspiring them, I s'pose.
AND motivate the rest of his team by encouraging them and demanding effort or challenging them.
Someone showing intensity.

I think the player who is most likely to exude a performance that pumpes everyone up is Carmouche. He wants to go to the NCAA Tournament bad. Im sure, even with his recent hip injury he will play at a high level on both offense and defense. He should be guarding Caldwell Pope in the first game, and closing him down and hitting some big threes could really help vault LSU into the Quarterfinals.

If we want a chance in the SEC tournament, Stringer will have to drain the 3's. He and Hickey will run this team.
