so the kentucky and arky coaches in 2007 are better than les?
You have the read the exchanges with context in mind. Freeze was mentioned as a coach who could be one to watch in the future.
Most of the time Les puts a team on the field with a superior talent advantage. No one indicated that every coach who's beaten him with lesser talent is better than Les.
Freeze is a coach to watch.

If I'm hiring a coach for the next five years, I take:
1. Saban
2. Franklin
3. Miles
4. Gus
5. Sumlin
People sleep on Franklin because he's at Vandy, but he's recruiting at an unprecedented rate for that school. If they win their bowl, he'll be 18-8 in his last two seasons and 24-15 overall. He's gonna kill it wherever he lands.

I see Spurrier ranked ahead of Miles in several posts. Until Spurrier actually wins something, he belongs behind Miles.
National Championship (1996)
National Title Game Appearances (1995 & 1996)
ACC Championship (1989)
SEC Championships
(1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000)
SEC Eastern Division Championships
(1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1999, 2000, 2010)
So his Florida and Duke records don't count? Les Miles also coached at Oklahoma St. How many conference titles did he win in the weak Big 12? You say Okie St is not a traditional power, what do you think South Carolina is? You want to talk only recently? South Carolina will finish ranked ahead of LSU in 2012 and 2013.

numero uno - I would play for CLM over playing for Saban.

The SEC has quite a bit of quality coaches.
The fact that most people are ranking Franklin around 7-10 should say enough about our conference.
Miles is a top 5 SEC coach and a top 10 coach overall.
Also a lot of coaches are in their early years. It's hard to rank this accurately until the new coaches get the athletes they want for the schemes they want.

So he hasn't won an national championship or an SEC championship with his current team (that he's been with for quite a while), and he's better than Miles?
makes sense

Miles is the 2nd best recruiter in the SEC
He's prob the 4th or 5th in terms of gameplanning, and gameday coaching .

I agree with game day coaching. But I think he plans well. Except for that one time.

Miles is 2 behind Saban. Saban should be ranked first because Saban is a better recruiter, not a better game day decision maker. Saban is the best recruiter in the nation. Gus would not even be in the discussion had Saban not blew it in the Iron Bowl and Bama's placekicker choked.

You're telling me Gus wouldn't be in the discussion if he would have lost to Bama?
Are you high?
