I agree with you on that , but it was the going somewhere else part that I think is ridiculous. But I get your point.

I'm glad he's here I've been his big supporter on this board

Well at least you picked the most pretentious, arrogant name you could.

Not at all. If you knew the reference to the username you would laugh.

That awesome run where he ran into Mett before taking the handoff

I was beginning to think I was the only one that saw that!

It is to late and we are to stacked at RB to waste carries to him there. 1 or 2 a game. He is a WR now. Let him do his work there. He seemed to have a pretty decent game catching the ball Saturday.

Who cares about the NFL? The point is to get the most out of him while he's here. Not at some other school ,like a previous poster suggested , or in the NFL.

No. Even if a college program shared your completely self-serving attitude, it would come back to haunt them in recruiting (at least in theory).

There is a moral obligation to develop players (student athletes in general) not only in the present and their time at LSU but also for their future. And in the case of LSU, it ends up being mutually beneficial because prospective recruits take notice of the long list of former LSU players in the NFL.

Aside from that, I think that Les Miles and most people involved with LSU really do care about players and want to see them succeed and achieve their personal goals.

The interesting part about that is in a team sport like football, part of the development process is often learning to forego individual goals and aspirations for the betterment of the team, which doesn't go unnoticed by the NFL.

I agree with most of what your saying. But by getting the most out of him the team will succeed, an the NFL stuff will take care of its self.

I wish Russell Shepard could have went somewhere else because we misused him so badly.
No injustice was done and prolly 75% of the skill players in CFB were QBs at one time and they can't all be a FBS QB.
What is LSU supposed to do with a speedy HS QB that isn't a SEC legit arm?
Can you afford to keep him in a crowded backfield as a skinny, weak blocking, not too shifty RB? Nah.

Put him at the spot where he's likely to touch the ball most and fit into the game of football.
He still has this season to break out, but it's not LSU's fault if nothing comes of it.
I hope Shep goes in the 1st round for LSU and his sake.

I'd like to see/have seen him more involved in the running game. At this point he's got 91 career rush attempts and he's averaging 7.2 yards per attempt.

I'm actually surprised he hasn't been more involved this year. My understanding of Miles' affinity for the option is that it stretches the defense horizontally, thus creating more space to run between the tackles.

It seems to me that getting Shep to the perimeter on a semi-consistent basis would have the same effect.
