Hook and Lime, near the park, has great tacos and other Mexican fare. The cilantro jalapeño margarita was solid. Chicken enchiladas come with green or red sauce; get some of both. Try any of the tacos.

M’s Pub in Old Market area downtown was good too. It appears to stay packed, so try for a reservation.

801 Chophouse is the place. Was there in 2017. Sat at a table next to Kim Mulkey( total coincidence). Steaks were fabulous.

The Drover. Get the whiskey ribeye.

Have reservations and temper expectations. It’s good but last year people hyped it up too much.

For casual, I recommend Upstream Brewing Co. in the Old Market.

Also Roccos is very overrated. Blatts across the street is where we spent most of our time, awesome place

Yes to both. Hated going to Roccos but enjoyed Blatts when I went last year.

If you are there for the CWS, your diet will consist mostly of Jell-O shots

I recommend going to a long-time Omaha staple, Cascio's. It's on 10th St just a little south of downtown. Good steaks, great chicken parmesan, and great chicken alfredo. I recommend getting the sampler plate appetizer which features fried raviolis. The Drover is still good and you can't go wrong there, but it's gotten a little pricey. I saw Mahogony's mentioned - take out a loan first. The food is good but you're way overpaying - mostly for the ambiance.

Definitely hit Barrett's Barleycorn for lunch and wear your LSU gear.

For Tex-Mex, Margarita's on 72nd and L is always good. Agave Azteca is in that same area and is usually good as well - get the Mexican omelet with steak. We recently had On The Border open here in Papillion and I like it. But it's a little overpriced compared to other Tex-Mex.

If you want a quick burger that you won't get other places, try Broncos. Won't know your socks off but it's a good burger and fries and is unique to Omaha if you want to try something different.

To cure your sweet tooth, hit a Wheatfield's and/or Summer Kitchen Cafe. Both have a caramel bread pudding that is worth the price of admission, especially Wheatfield's. And, they both serve good food (like chicken fried steak) as well.

Finally, if you're missing home and want Cajun, give Mouth of the South a try. They have locations downtown and in West Omaha. I think it's good stuff (love their boudin balls appetizer) but nothing will be near spicy enough - they tone it down for the folks up here. Another Cajun option is Herbe Sainte in Aksarben Village. It is relatively new so haven't had a chance to give it a try, but I've heard good things about it.

A lot of options, I know. But as you can tell, I like food! Enjoy Omaha and the CWS!

As a side note, when are you planning on attending? I may be able to hook you up with some tickets. Can you send me a PM on TD?

Honestly, I'm not real familiar with the Pink Poodle. I would call them or go online and make reservations. You may have to have an early, or late, dinner. If you can't get in there at a reasonable time, try Spezia on 72nd just north of the interstate. They have pretty good prime rib. It's also closer to downtown.
