A national title is the hope, but that's not my expectation. A deep run every few years is....with a team that is capable of reaching the final 4 and potentially winning it all. We aren't close to that now, and haven't been for a long time.

Im where you are. Consistent tourneys, like 9 out of 10 years.
Every 4-5 years make an elite 8 type run. The seeding and injuries have hindered this so far. But also the first couple years were building, so im willing to remove that expectation for them. The tourney is almost a crapshoot. So get as many shots at it as you can and eventually youll catch a decent draw and make a run. So many coaches were said to always choke in the tourney until they didnt. Guys like Drew at baylor and Bennett at virginia

I mean, yes we are.

2018/19 - you had a final four caliber team. Ran into a juggernaut in MSU and didn't have a head coach

2019/20 - covid

2020/21 - like others have said above, we were mis seaeded and played a 1 seed extremely close.

keep in mind, those 2 teams were handicapped by bullshite reports of "sanctions" when a commitment from TWO separate 5 star centers and a 4 star PG were imminent. That was what that team was missing and got fricked out of.

2021/2022 - When healthy, were 15-1 and a top 10 team. Have struggled since. Still won't be fully healthy all year as Miller is out.

The next two seasons have national title potential. We are VERY close to being a final 4 basketball team, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if we hit that mark next year while being a top 3 seed.

Also you say this like it's a shot at Wade. Wade built the program from the ground up 5 years ago, yet it's somehow his fault that Trent and Johnny ran the program into the ground?

You are Dale Brown, and you are a clown. Your melts clearly show you don't know anything about the sport past a middle school level.

Some national powers since 2011 ( last 10 seasons)

Duke 1 Final Four 2015, 1 NC
Ky. 4 FF(last one 2015) 1 NC,
Kansas 2 FF(last 2018) 0 NC
Gonzaga 3 FF (last 2021) 0 NC

These are some of the current powers. It’s not as if they go to the FF every other season or win multiple NCs every decade.

I believe there would be a lot of better teams if the players would stay at a college for 4 years. It is hard to be great if you only have a few players stay a couple years. You have to have great players today to win championships because they are are only there for a short time. Most teams can't do that anymore because there isn't enough good players to win championships in two years. Every year LSU has a different roster. Coaches can't really do much to get a good program going when every year it changes. But this is what we are stuck with and i don't see anything changing in the future

I believe he’s confusing what he wants with expectations. There’s a reason I made a distinction in the OP. What can we reasonably expect as fans.

As a fan I hope we Wooden it and win it all for a decade
