Whatever happened to the former LSU tight end/fullback from Crowley, who was a Tiger star from 1997-2001?

Did he ever go pro?

CSB, I lived in Broussard Hall with him in 1998. He gave me his family tickets to the Florida game. Drove me and my girlfriend at the time all the way down there hoping we would repeat our win from '97 (wasn't clear at that point of the season how bad our defense really was) only to watch Thomas Dunson stink it up and get our arse kicked. Dunson was so bad that other players' parents were even yelling about it in the stands. I remember his mom telling Arnold Miller's dad "that's my son you are talking about" to which he said, "well he sucks and needs to be taken out."

(1)Possibly the folks working at the port of entry, (Ellis Island) were not familiar with all the dialects of new immigrants.
(2) Midwife or whoever filled out a birth certificate, in past generation, was not fluent in English or spelling.

I always thought it was “Domingo” but I could see where the Dom”in”geaux would get some French “ah” to it as long as the Geaux was “ge-oh”

Probably not the same. I have a feeling that's a pretty common name in Acadiana.

When half your last name is "Cock" you can go one of two ways:

1. Own it and put extra mustard on the COCK part, i.e. COCK' burn.

2. Retcon that shite and get as much of the cock out as you can.

I remember hearing a story that Joe’s father started pronouncing it DiMaggio in effort to get his son more attention in recruiting.

ETA: From the posts below it appears this story is BS.

That was a close game.

An LSU defensive lineman was offsides on a 90 yard interception return that was a turning point in the game.

I was at that game. I graduated from LSU in 97 and was at FSU working on my masters. I knew a LOT of UF fans in Tallahassee, so I was really hoping we could make it two in a row. As I recall, Travis McGriff beat out secondary for a couple of big plays. Even though we lost, it was still one of the better games we played that year.

Score was much closer than the game actually was and Florida dominated the second half. Very demoralizing.

Dunson gets a bad, and largely underserved rap. He was not equipped to play that position, and everybody not named “Tepper”could see that, but who on that team would have done any better? It was Tepper’s stubborn insistence of plugging that round hole with a square peg that caused the poor results. It was Tepper’s fault for running a defense that did not suit his personnel.
