I’m not sure our OC is aware such plays exist.

Or QB runs, it's easy to double team and open holes when there are only 3 guys rushing.

This is elementary type stuff.

We've done a terrible job of surprising the defense, they know what's coming.

That would require in game adjustements and we don’t have that capability within our coaching staff.

sure does, but that is just one of many things we don't do, that have been proven over time to be successful.
LSU basically runs the same routes, the same up the middle runs every play.
When has LSU run a reverse, a successful screen pass, a throwback pass, a pitch sweep?
I could go on....LSU runs the same plays every single play...with an OLine that couldn't block a good HS team. It is doomed before the snap. The only reason we ever have a successful play, is when our elite skill players do something better than the defense's elite players on a one on one basis.
I have seen team after team on TV run the plays I mentioned for TD's and big gainers. LSU doesn't even attempt them. Are our players that stupid or are our coaches that stupid?
Watching the replay in slow motion is so telling, and hard to believe we have sunk this low 2 years after winning a national title. Fat and slow linemen are a disgrace to LSU history.
Only a complete overhaul and start over will cure LSU's problems at this point....and we could start with our compliance department, because the only difference between winning and losing at Ky this week may be the uniform that a certain LT is wearing, and that is on LSU 100%.
