Will you support JL then or will you continue to be a cocksucker?

I'm happy to have Jefferson starting. I think he'll do well. But as an LSU fan for 20+ years, what I am "used to" is more than 1 quarterback starting throughout a season.

why would you wish injury upon one of our players, much less the starting QB?

What does pass seasons have to do with this. Many college QBs make it a season without having to miss a game. But i guess just because LSU has only had 2 QBs in the past 20 seasons "which isnt true" makes it impossible for a QB to make it a whole season. And fron the JR comparison i take it you truly dont know how much JJ weighs.

I think JJ is a gamer, plain and simple.

he may not be the best practice QB (reports are that Lee looks better as a pure passer)

but the kid can play. period.

he has confidence, and leadership.

while I appreciate all jarrett lee has done for LSU this past season, I'm a firm believe in competition, and if you can't hack it, gotta concede and let someone else have a shot.

JL starting for LSU last year wasn't his fault, I will say that. He clearly was not ready to lead the team, and it showed. Hatch was a gritty player, but clearly was not as talented as the other two QB's. once again, DAMN you RP!

Do I support Jarrett Lee? Sure I do. He's a LSU football player, and I would never boo him.
But to me and a lot of other fans, it was comical last year how bad the coaches screwed up the QB situation. When hatch went down, they should have been giving JJ a LOT more snaps in practice.

it seemed like the coaches were going to be stubborn and not fully prepare a backup in JJ.

it showed too when he came in the troy game and was not prepared, looked out of sync, so to speak.

And had some nice plays vs. ole miss when lee went down, but the play selection was pretty terrible again in the second half.

then there's the arkansas game, stellar game considering the situation for a TRUE freshman, a couple months removed from high school, with JJ leading the team to 31 points in his first start ever. Not bad, at ALL. The defense let him down, and we all know that.

And lastly, after giving JJ 100 percent practice time with the 1st string, we all saw what he is capable of. Some people will try to be revisionist about it and blow it off like it was a game of little importance, but I do remember 99% of fans around the country (including a TON of LSU fans) saying that LSU wold be beaten SOOOO badly, that we'd all cry everyday in the offseason... turns out... JJ, and his team proved everyone wrong.

JJ is a WINNER

I think you're not giving enough credit to Miles & Co. for that game. Regardless of who plays, give Miles a month to plan, and they smoke any team.

I disagree once again. If you have a QB that has throwed 16 INTs and 7 for TDs i dont care whos your coach your not goin to smoke anybody. Just give credit where its due and that is JJ.

if people actually go back and look at gamefilm from the chick fila bowl, they'll soon discover that if jarrett lee had played that game, he would have either been:

A. Sacked. A LOT.

B. more than likely threw off his back foot into double and triple coverage causing a pick, or worse, another pick six.

I'd suggest everyone to go look at the link I posted and tell me how jarrett lee would have done with all that pressure from blitzing.

looking at his play from the past 9 games, i'd have to assume he wouldn't have done that well.

sure he does good in practice passing drills, but when people are running at him he makes REALLY dumb decisions with the ball.

Lets just be honest, J Jeff just has more tools as a QB than J Lee. He's more aware. Makes better decisions and can actually run. He's just a better athlete.

I think so too. In fact, I remember starting a post midway through the season when Lee was sucking that was titled something like "What if Jordan Jefferson just has big balls?" Basically I was asking if maybe his "gamer"-ness could overcome his lack of experience and knowledge of the playbook. Having never seen him play, I thought it was possible because though it's certainly not the SEC, leading your team to an undefeated Louisiana 5-A State Championship is pretty impressive.

So, it's strange that I've somewhat taken the other side of this argument, because I've thought/hoped Jefferson could be special, and he's done nothing so far to suggest otherwise.(Though he's certainly not done nearly enough to establish himself either). I just hate people shitting on any of our guys and giving up on them. Especially freshman. I used to take up for Jamarcus all the time, when after his freshman year, people were saying a lot of the same things about him that they are about Lee.

I admire J Lee for handling the situation last season like he did. He took all the responsibility and handled it all with poise...but still.
